Join us!\nTHE ROLE\nLegends Global is seeking an experienced Accounting Coordinator to serve as the lead accounting resource for the Henrico Sports & Events Center.\nThis is a hands-on accounting leadership role for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, improving processes, and working closely with operations and finance leadership.\nWhy Join Us?\nThe Henrico Sports & Events Center is a dynamic, event-driven environment where accounting is directly connected to facility operations. This position offers the opportunity to own the accounting function, work closely with leadership, analyze business performance, strengthen processes, and make a meaningful impact.\nIf you're looking for a role where your accounting experience, judgment, and ideas are valued-and where you can take ownership rather than simply process transactions-we'd like to hear from you.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nServe as the lead accounting resource for the facility and oversee day-to-day accounting operations\nLead the monthly financial close process and ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end activities\nPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, adjusting entries, and general ledger activity\nPrepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations\nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and other accounting functions\nPrepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, budget-to-actual reports, and supporting schedules\nAnalyze financial results and explain significant variances and trends\nMaintain accurate supporting documentation for financial transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries\nCoordinate annual external audit materials and work directly with external auditors\nEstablish and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency\nProvide leadership, training, review, and support to accounting staff\nPartner with the General Manager and Regional Finance Team on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis\nProvide hands-on support and backup to accounting staff as needed\nPerform other accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nFive or more years of progressive accounting experience to include public and/or private\nStrong general ledger and month-end close experience\nExperience with financial statements, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred\nCPA or other professional accounting designation.\nGovernmental accounting or GASB experience\nSupervisory or accounting team leadership experience.\n·Sports, entertainment, hospitality, venue, nonprofit, or event-industry experience\nExperience with Sage 50/Quantum or similar accounting software.\nExternal audit experience\nStrong knowledge of GAAP\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills\nSKILLS AND ABILITIE S\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment\nStrong knowledge of accounting software and applications\nStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel\nAbility to handle confidential financial and personnel information.\nCOMPENSATION\nCompetitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nLocation: Henrico Sports & Events Center\n1 All Star Blvd.\nGlen Allen, VA 23059\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
