Join us!\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES\nThe Tucson Convention Center, including the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, has an opening for a skilled Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant performs day-to-day accounting and payroll activities for Tucson Convention Center’s Facility and food and facility operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:\nPerforms day-to-day accounting activities so that general ledger, trial balance, and key account reconciliations are adequately prepared and monitored.\nPrepares and performs bank reconciliations on multiple accounts for both food and beverage and facility operations.\nPrepares invoices and monthly revenue recognition journal entries.\nPrepares and performs or assists with event settlements.\nVarious financial analysis and reporting.\nAssists in preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.\nAssists Accounting Managers in bi-weekly payroll processing and subsequent journal entries, as needed.\nMaintains fixed asset detail records and performs account analysis.\nPerforms A/R and A/P functions as assigned.\nPerforms monthly account analysis on various general ledger accounts.\nPrepares balance sheet reconciliations and review with Accounting Manager and Director of Finance on monthly basis.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nB.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university\nMust have a minimum of 1-2 years of general accounting experience or Equivalent combination of education and experience of the above\nSKILLS AND ABILITIES\nExtensive knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word\nExperience with ADP or similar payroll systems is desirable\nSage software knowledge is beneficial\nExtensive knowledge of general and cost accounting\nFamiliar with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)\nExcellent math skills; high aptitude for figures\nExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability\nAbility to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required\nMust be very detail oriented\nAbility to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff, including management\nAbility to work irregular hours will vary due to events and will include day, evening, weekends, and holidays\nAbility to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines\nMust have professional attitude and appearance\nCOMPENSATION\nCompetitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nLocation: On Site in Tucson, AZ\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
