This is a part-time, event based, union, hourly position paying $23.61 per hour.

Job Summary
Box Office Ticket Sellers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting guests with ticket purchases, event information, seating inquiries, and other box office needs at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Team members are responsible for accurately processing ticket sales, handling cash and electronic transactions, and providing knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient service throughout each event.
The ideal candidate is friendly, customer-focused, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, maintain accuracy while handling transactions, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Open and close assigned ticket windows in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurately process and dispense tickets based on guest requests and event requirements.
- Process sales, credit/debit, and other approved forms of payment accurately and securely.
- Accurately count and reconcile sales and ticket inventory as required.
- Maintain accurate ticket counts for hard tickets and utilize ticketing systems to access counts for electronically printed tickets.
- Process ticket reservations and sales by telephone, mail, or other approved methods.
- Operate and manage the Will Call window in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide guests with accurate information regarding ticket prices, seating locations, event schedules, policies, and upcoming events.
- Assist guests with seating selections and provide recommendations based on availability and event requirements.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest questions, requests, and service needs.
- Provide information regarding upcoming attractions, events, promotions, and venue offerings.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming, professional demeanor at all times.
- Accurately enter and retrieve information using the venue’s ticketing and computer systems.
- Maintain required records, files, reports, and transaction documentation.
- Demonstrate the ability to memorize, recall, and communicate relevant events, seating, pricing, and ticketing information.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of company, event, guest, and financial information.
- Follow all box office policies, procedures, cash-handling requirements, and security protocols.
- Communicate effectively with Box Office Managers, Supervisors, event staff, and other venue departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience; experience in a sports, entertainment, theater, arena, or similar high-volume environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English in a professional working environment.
- Friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented personality.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while handling transactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple guest requests.
- Ability to follow direction and established procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and guest information appropriately.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn and operate ticketing systems.
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for scheduled shifts.
- Must wear uniform, maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules.

- Must be able to continuously stand and walk throughout the venue for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
- Employees may be required to work in crowded, high-volume attendance environments with elevated noise levels.
- Employees may be scheduled to work late evening events, including shifts ending at 12:00 AM or later.
