CPD teams collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and other engineering disciplines to ensure products evolve to meet customer and business needs.\nAs a Core Product Development Intern, you will support engineering activities that contribute directly to the design, testing, and optimization of automotive seating components. Your work will help ensure our products meet performance, durability, and quality standards across global OEM programs.\nThis position is ideal for students interested in product development, design improvement, and applied engineering who want to build practical experience in a collaborative environment.\nSo, what will you be doing as a CPD Intern?\nCPD Project Support - Assist engineers with continuous product development initiatives, including design updates, improvements, and product optimization activities.\nEngineering Analysis & Support - Help perform basic analysis, testing, or evaluations to support design or product changes through CAD modeling, tolerance checks, and design updates. \nDocumentation & Change Support - Assist with engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and engineering change records.\nCross-Functional Collaboration - Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation and Engineering teams to support product improvements from concept through implementation.\nData Collection & Reporting - Help gather and organize technical or performance data to support CPD decisions.\nContinuous Improvement - Participate in initiatives focused on improving product quality, cost, or manufacturability.\nLearning & Professional Development - Gain exposure to CPD processes, product lifecycle management, and engineering best practices through hands-on experience and mentoring. \nEmployer Branding & Engagement - Act as an ambassador for the internship program by providing feedback and participating in early-career engagement activities as needed.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nTo be successful in this role, you’ll need:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nBasic understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methods.\nCurious, hands-on, and eager to learn how engineered components become real products\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.\nAble to work onsite in Lakeshore, Ontario\nStrong communication skills and eagerness to learn.\nThings we consider a plus:\nHands-on engineering student who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and fixing things, with the ability to investigate problems, determine likely root causes, and contribute to practical engineering solutions.\nCoursework or experience related to product design, manufacturing processes, or engineering analysis.\nBasic CAD experience (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)\nInterest in testing, measurement, or product validation\nExperience with team-based projects or internships.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)\nInterest in pursuing a long-terInterest in testing, measurement, or product validation \nWhat to Do Next\nNow that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
