If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor solving problems, troubleshooting equipment, programming PLCs, and supporting manufacturing operations in real time.\nThis is not a desk-based engineering role. The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time working directly with production equipment, diagnosing electrical and controls issues, modifying and developing PLC programs, wiring and installing automation components, and partnering with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.\nWe're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys being the technical expert who keeps automated systems running efficiently.\nSo, what will you be doing as an Maintenance Controls Technician?\nTroubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems.\nProvide hands-on support for daily maintenance and production issues involving controls, electrical systems, drives, sensors, and HMIs.\nDevelop, modify, and debug PLC and HMI programs to improve equipment performance and reliability.\nPerform electrical troubleshooting using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.\nInstall, wire, test, and commission automation equipment, control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and related components.\nSupport preventive and predictive maintenance activities on automated production equipment.\nIdentify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.\nWork closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize machine performance.\nCreate and maintain documentation including electrical drawings, PLC backups, and troubleshooting records.\nSupport automation and controls projects at other Flooring locations as needed.\nTo be successful in this role, you’ll need:\nB.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred\n5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance, controls, or automation experience in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, or similar platforms.\nExperience working with HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, servos, and other industrial automation components.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.\nHands-on experience with electrical wiring, control panel modifications, and equipment startup activities.\nKnowledge of motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution systems, and industrial electrical systems.\nStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex electrical and controls issues under production conditions.\nWillingness to travel 30-40% to support other manufacturing facilities.\nThings we consider a plus:\nPrevious experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in a maintenance capacity.\nExperience commissioning new equipment and automation systems.\nBackground in continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction initiatives.\nExperience in polymer, foam, chemical, or process manufacturing environments.\nAutoCAD or electrical drafting experience.\nWhat to Do Next\nNow that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
