We take these to heart, and if you do as well, you’ll fit right in.\nSo, what will you be doing as a(n) Purchasing Agent?\nReview requisitions to run job requirement reports\nEnsure the timely delivery of all materials needed for meeting production schedules\nDevelop methods to reduce overall costs\nWorks with production planning on new products and delivery\nConfers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule\nSeek out cost saving products\nEstimate values according to knowledge of market price\nMaintains procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories\nDiscusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble\nWork with vendors on invoice problems\nExpedites delivery of goods to users\nGenerate effective communications, good relationships and a positive image with suppliers and coworkers\nHave a clear understanding of all processes involved with the position\nInitiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to the product, process and/or the system\nIdentify, record and communicate any problems relating to product, process and the management system\nInitiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels\nControl further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected\nConform to all Quality and Safety requirements and procedures\nParticipate in the Continuous Improvement process\nPerform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate\nTo be successful in this role, you’ll need:\nStrong math and computer skills\nExcellent communication skills (verbal & written)\nAbility to negotiate with vendors concerning price, delivery and quality\nAble to meet deadlines under adverse and/or fast pace circumstances\nMust be able to manage multiple tasks\nMust have a cooperative attitude, necessary to work effectively with others\nMust be able to follow verbal and written instructions\n3 years previous experience in purchasing\nMust be detail oriented\nCommitment to Quality Management Systems and Continuous Improvement\nCommitment to L&P Safety and Environmental initiatives\nThings we consider a plus\nPrevious manufacturing experience.\nBachelor's degree.\nWhat to Do Next\nNow that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
