We are committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement-and we are expanding our engineering capability to support our growing operations.\nWe are seeking a Certified Weld Engineer to lead welding engineering, automation development, and weld quality initiatives across our manufacturing processes. This role is essential in advancing PHC’s welding technology, supporting innovation, and ensuring the structural integrity of every cylinder we produce.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, qualify, and maintain WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation in accordance with AWS standards.\nProvide engineering support for GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, and automated welding applications.\nIdentify and evaluate new welding technologies, advanced waveforms, and weld monitoring tools.\nLead implementation and validation of robotic welding systems, fixtures, and automated processes.\nConduct weld design reviews with focus on joint design, heat input, metallurgy, and distortion control.\nEnsure compliance with AWS codes, customer requirements, and PHC quality standards.\nPerform root-cause analysis and corrective action for weld-related nonconformances.\nSupport Lean/CI initiatives and optimize welding parameters, tooling, and process flow.\nTrain and support welders through technical coaching and qualification testing.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.\n AWS certification required (CWI, CWE, or SCWI preferred).\n3-5+ years of welding engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong understanding of welding metallurgy, heat input, and process control.\nExperience developing and qualifying WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation.\nWorking knowledge of AWS codes and weld inspection criteria.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with hydraulic cylinders, pressure-containing components, or structural weldments.\nHands-on experience with robotic/automated welding systems.\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.\nProficiency with CAD, 3D modeling, or weld simulation software.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive pay and comprehensive benefits.\nOpportunity to lead welding modernization and automation initiatives.\nA supportive, team-focused culture within a growing global business.\nProfessional development and AWS certification support.\nWhat to Do Next\nNow that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
