Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager in Moreno Valley, CA. Responsible for leading and managing all Environmental Health & Safety programs for the Moreno Valley Distribution Center, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving a zero-injury culture, managing EHS strategy, and developing site leadership capabilities. Ensures site compliance with OSHA, CAL-OSHA, state and federal EPA regulations, and applicable ISO standards. Helps drive Legrand CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility, targets related to EH&S for logistics department
What Will You Do?
Main Activities:
- Lead site EHS strategy and roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.
- Manage EHS budget, resources, compliance programs and management systems.
- Lead ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 deployment, audits and certification activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop leaders and employees to achieve EH&S objectives and foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and trend reduction initiatives to drive continuous improvement and prevent recurrence
- Lead the site Safety Committee, including monthly agendas, safety inspections, assignment of corrective actions, and timely follow-up on open items; support enterprise EHS initiatives.
- Drive CSR and sustainability targets.
- Analyze EH&S performance metrics, identify trends, communicate results to leadership, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
- Have a strong floor presence to monitor and assess current working conditions and make recommendations for improvements. Will sit out on the operations floor and spend up to significant amount of time working directly with operations; performing audits, observing processes, implementing solutions, developing staff, and other action-based roles.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, equipment, and safeguards to identify hazards, verify regulatory compliance, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s) to identify potential hazards and recommend safe work practices.
- Address unsafe acts, conditions, hazards and environmental risks; communicate issues and remediation steps with site leadership.
- Develop and manage ergonomic work initiatives to ensure ongoing ergonomic assessments, evaluations, and continuous improvement processes to reduce work/job-related trauma.
- Provide directions to plant management on EH&S budget needs and policies.
- Develop, implement, and oversee EH&S training and communication programs, including new employee orientation, job-specific instruction, safety talks, and other regulatory training.
Ensure department leaders deliver required content and maintain accurate participation and training records.
- Facilitate EH&S events, process improvement activities, visual controls, and other site initiatives that strengthen employee participation and safe work practices.
- Drive environmental programs related to energy, air, waste, and wastewater.
- Support HR Manager in all Workers’ Compensation-related injuries/illnesses, focusing on workplace safety, accident prevention and ergonomics program.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CAL-OSHA, EPA, ISO, and other applicable requirements through audits, inspections, regulatory reporting, performance monitoring, recordkeeping, and
timely corrective action follow-up.
- Accountable for the overall EH&S performance of the Moreno Valley distribution center, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership development, compliance governance, and achievement of annual corporate EH&S objectives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related discipline. Other degrees supported by certification or training program completions will be considered Experience:
- 7+ years EHS experience in manufacturing, logistics or distribution environments.
- 3+ years leadership/people management experience preferred.
