The role combines transportation analytics, systems knowledge, financial\nanalysis, and continuous improvement to support strategic and day-to-day transportation decisions. This\nposition partners Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, IT, business units, and external transportation\nproviders to improve network performance and support efficient movement of freight across parcel, LTL,\ntruckload, intermodal, air, and ocean modes.\n MAJOR JOB DUTIES:\nAnalyze transportation spend, shipment activity, freight costs, accessorials, service performance, and network trends across domestic and international modes.\nPerform transportation network analysis, routing analysis, lane and mode optimization, consolidation studies, and scenario evaluations to improve cost, service, and capacity.\nDevelop cost models and cost-benefit analyses for carrier changes, mode shifts, sourcing events, network changes, and transportation productivity initiatives.\nPrepare recurring operational and financial reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and KPI scorecards for transportation performance, including cost per shipment, cost per pound, on-time pickup/delivery, claims, accessorials, and carrier performance.\nSupport annual transportation budget development, monthly forecasting, accrual analysis, variance analysis, and freight productivity tracking.\nReview routing decisions, routing guides, carrier assignments, rate structures, contracts, fuel programs, and accessorial charges; identify exceptions and recommend corrective action.\nSupport transportation sourcing events, RFQs/RFPs, carrier negotiations, bid analysis, award scenarios, implementation, and post-award performance measurement.\nMaintain and analyze carrier and transportation supplier performance; attend business reviews and provide fact-based recommendations for corrective action or network changes.\nPartners with internal teams and external providers to triage transportation service failures, capacity constraints, billing issues, and other active transportation problems.\nLeverage TMS, ERP, freight audit/payment data, carrier systems, and other data sources to improve data quality, reporting, routing compliance, and transportation visibility.\nSupport transportation systems implementations, enhancements, testing, master-data requirements, user acceptance testing, process documentation, and end-user training.\nDevelop and maintain transportation standard operating procedures, routing instructions, analytical tools, and documentation needed to support consistent processes across locations and business units.\nIdentify continuous-improvement projects that reduce freight cost, improve service, simplify processes, or strengthen transportation controls.\nProvide management-by-exception reporting that highlights material cost, service, routing, or carrier performance issues requiring action.\nPerform other transportation analytics, project support, and related duties as assigned.\nEDUCATION:\nBS in business or related or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nProfile:\nBachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.\nAt least 3 to 5 years of transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related experience preferred, with direct transportation experience strongly preferred.\nAt least 3 to 5 years of analytical experience working with transportation, financial, operational, or network data.\nSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Access, or other analytics/database tools preferred.\nWorking knowledge of transportation modes, carrier pricing, freight terminology, routing, rate structures, accessorials, and transportation performance measures.\nExperience with TMS, ERP, freight or audit/payment systems is preferred.\nAbility to analyze large data sets, identify trends and exceptions, develop actionable insights, and communicate recommendations clearly.\nStrong financial acumen with the ability to perform cost modeling, variance analysis, forecasting, and savings validation.\nStrong continuous improvement skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and execute crossfunctional initiatives.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with carriers, operational teams, management, and senior leaders.\nDemonstrated relationship building, teamwork, and collaboration across functions and business units.\nAbility to work independently, challenge assumptions, solve complex problems, and support datadriven decisions.\nTravel requirement: up to 25%.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nSit, walk, and stand as required in an office or operational environment.\nHear and speak to exchange information in person, virtually, and by telephone.\nPossess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard computer
