This position is responsible for safely operating various machining, production, and assembly operations per work assignment description to produce high quality manufactured parts or assembled production. This position will have the ability to set up or make minor adjustments to various machines. Work assignments will be scheduled based on training proficiency.\n What Will You Do?\nAccording to work assignment description and scheduling, correctly setup and operate various machines, follow the production and quality procedures following prints and checking materials for defects, maintain production materials, inspect product to ensure high quality. Able to run various types of equipment. \nPerform minor adjustments and daily maintenance to equipment \nParticipate on Continuous Improvement Teams \nProvide training to other associates as needed \nBasic or routine troubleshooting\nAble to operator material handling equipment: (Forklift, Stand Behinds, Trucks) if necessary\nAbility to work with minimal supervision\nConduct machine and production changeovers as required\nCertified to operate various workstations/positions within the facility to meet production needs\nInspect measurements and product to ensure quality and accuracy\nTransport the product to the correct location when completed\nUpdate all completed work in the correct system per the schedule\nAbility to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed\nAbility to perform and demonstrate all manufacturing procedures after training.\nAssist with other duties within the department and/or other work stations/departments when necessary\nComplete clean-up responsibilities and maintain work station according to 5S procedure\nDemonstrate our five core values of Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment and Continuous Improvement \nUnderstand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations\nPerform other duties deemed necessary to support the Company’s business operations \n Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:\nAbility to read, write and speak English fluently\nDemonstrated ability to use and interpret measurement tools such as tape measure, micrometers and calipers\nAbility to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, BOM’s and associated procedures\nAbility to follow directions and work with minimal supervision\nFlexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks\nDemonstrated mechanical aptitude\nBasic math skills and problem-solving skills\nAbility to operate some or all of the following types of equipment: Presses, Laser Turret, Welder, Table Saws, Edgers, Paint Sprayers, Mills and other Manufacturing Equipment as needed\nAbility to identify and communicate basic process improvements\nMust possess high level of attention to detail\nWorks well in a Team Environment\nCapability to Train others\nAbility to work well in a team environment\nProvide training to other associates \nThe ability to make decisions on imperfect information\nThe ability to multitask and bias towards actions\nProven reliability - attendance and punctuality\nMust understand basic lean principles - 5S, Kanban\nAbility to use the following hand tools: drills, screw drivers, hammers, etc\nMinimum Education and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred. \n2 years of previous experience in operating specific specialized equipment outside of Legrand AVD or 2 years of demonstrated experience operating a variety of different types of machinery.\nWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch, and manipulate objects. This may include frequent use of vibrating/pneumatic tools, overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs throughout the day and occasionally up to 75lbs as needed.
