The Successful candidate will be responsible for automated and manual equipment, trouble shooting, and improvements. Working individually or as part of a manufacturing team, specifies and designs new manufacturing systems, troubleshoots and improves existing automation, develops documentation packages and training for process technicians and floor personnel.\n Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes with existing automation cells for increased uptime and efficiency.\nEvaluate and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and production methods.\n\nDevelop and implement process improvements based on product requirements, production needs, and quality standards.\n\nUse SolidWorks to design systems and components to be built by in house tool shop.\nSpecify a variety of new equipment to replace obsolete systems including material handling systems, packaging equipment, assembly machines, etc.\nDesign new tooling for existing processes.\nParticipate in cross-functional Kaizen improvement teams.\nTrain and guide technicians and production employees on new or updated processes.\nWork with production team to achieve departmental goals.\nWork with maintenance to troubleshoot and problem solve production floor issues, upgrades and preventative maintenance.\nPerform other similar and related duties as required. \n Education:\nBS in Mechanical Engineering\nDemonstrated 2-3 years of experience in metal processing or injection molding manufacturing, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.\n\nSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:\nMust know SolidWorks software or be proficient in similar design package.\nMust have sound technical knowledge of automated equipment.\nMust have excellent mechanical skills.\nMust utilize a methodical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.\nMust have skills to be hands on in the design, build, and implementation of equipment/components.\nExperience programming robotics beneficial\nExperience with PLC beneficial.\nExperience with thermoplastic extrusion or injection molding beneficial\nRequires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.\nMust have strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to efficiently summarize information in an effective manner. \nMust be able to work independently as well as within a variety of teams. Must be highly collaborative to ensure timely completion of projects.\nStrong computer skills: proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
