The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will assist in the continual improvement and maintenance of a comprehensive EHS program.\n What Will You Do? \nMain Job Duties: \nUnder the leadership of the EHS manager, the EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Starline’s Canonsburg facility is in compliance with all state, federal, DEP, and OSHA regulations regarding health and safety\nMaintain an existing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program, Emergency Action Plan, Legal Register, and Risk Management System\nEnsure Emergency Response plans are in proper working conditions and leading competency drills \nConduct activities related to environmental compliance, reporting, regulatory permitting, hazardous waste handling, and waste reduction/recycling programs\nOversee maintenance of all safety records including the SDS database and GHS program implementation.\nMonitor trends related to employee work-related injuries\nEnsure compliance of the on-site wastewater treatment plant\nEnsure all company vehicles are within Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance \nConduct monthly safety committee meetings, reporting safety metrics, and departmental safety audits\nDemonstrate high standards of conduct and integrity\nAdditional duties as required by management\n Education:\nBachelor’s Degree in related field, safety, environmental sciences\nAlternative an engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.\nSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:\nAbility to work the Weekend Shift - Friday, Saturday, Sunday \nAbility to work in cross-functional teams with diverse backgrounds and skill sets\nAbility to host and present safety topics to large groups\nDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal\nKnowledge of ISO-14001:2015 and ISO-45001:2018 Management Systems\nStrong documentation skills with revision control\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\nAbility to train and certify forklift operators in accordance with OSHA requirements \nPersonal Qualities/Behaviors: \nThis position will have exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required\nAbility to stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time\nAble to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently\nPrimary working hours will be weekend shift.\n\nNote: The above Job Description is representative of the responsibilities and qualifications necessary to be successful in this role.
