Works under clearly defined guidelines and under close supervision of the manager and other engineers.\n Main Job Duties:\nConceptualize and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) / Test (DFT) / Assembly (DFA) and Full Turnkey solutions.\nSupport the engineering team tasked with the commercialization and launch of Starline-designed products.\nPerform mechanical engineering design tasks in support of customer-specific customizations of Starline products.\nAssist in creating technical documentation such as drawings, O&M Manuals, installation instructions, work instructions, and product catalogs.\nSupport the integration of third-party products with Starline’s product offerings.\nConduct testing under supervision to verify product performance, system integration, and compliance with applicable standards.\nPartner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing staff to ensure product manufacturability.\nAssist in supporting improvements to Starline’s engineering information systems to ensure high-quality engineering information is provided to production and other customers of this information.\nSupport the automation of design tasks.\nProvide jobsite support.\nCollaborate with certification laboratories such as UL, CSA, and Intertek (ETL), as well as various international agencies.\nProvide lab testing support.\nParticipate in team-based initiatives within Starline.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nRelevant experience in the mechanical engineering field, either in a professional or academic setting.\nFamiliarity with low voltage power distribution equipment preferred.\nFamiliarity with electrical codes and standards preferred.\nAbility to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10%.\nRelevant internship/co-op experience preferred.\nSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:\nExperience using AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or VAULT.\nExperience with an ERP system preferred.\nExceptional organizational, time management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office tools.\nFamiliarity with principles and processes for providing customer satisfaction, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.\nFamiliarity with project management processes and principles.\nPersonal Qualities/Behaviors:\nThe performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection is required.\nAble to sit for prolonged periods of time.\nAble to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.\nNote: The above Job Description is representative of the responsibilities and qualifications necessary to be successful in this role.
