We are seeking an experienced General Fleet Mechanic with strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills. This position performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of emergency and specialty vehicles, police vehicles, fire apparatus, ambulances, and command units. Responsibilities include brake repair, suspension work, steering components, tire service, drivability concerns, and troubleshooting complex vehicle systems using OBD-I, OBD-II, and CAN bus diagnostic tools. Experience with 12V electrical systems is highly preferred, as many vehicles are equipped with aftermarket emergency lighting, sirens, communications equipment, cameras, and other specialized accessories. Additional duties may include repairing or replacing emergency lighting components, speakers, push bumpers, and related equipment, as well as removing and reinstalling vehicle-mounted accessories following repairs or vehicle replacement projects. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety in a fleet service environment.\nResponsibilities:\n· Provide general vehicle repairs (brakes, tires, suspension and technical systems, etc.)\n· Provide 12V electrical such as light head replacement, speaker replacement, post collision replacement to push bumpers and equipment removal\n· Troubleshoot and interpret manufacturers drawings\n· Diagnose using diagnostic equipment\n· * EVT certification will be required within 12 months of hire (we will help with prep)\nQualifications:\nRequired:\nMust be able to read manufacturer's drawings and manuals\nMust have basic computer and internet literacy\nKnowledgeable and experienced operating hand, power, and shop tools\nKeep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.)\nAbility to drive manual transmission vehicles\nUse computer diagnostic equipment\nMust have own tools\nMust respect and work positively with first responders and law enforcement\nMust be detail oriented with strong work ethic\nAbility to lift 50 lbs. and work in/around vehicles\nPreferred:\nASE Certification \nExperience with 12V electrical systems\nCompensation and Benefits:\n$23-$28 per hour based on experience (must have 12V experience to be considered for higher end of pay)\nPerformance and productivity bonuses following the training period \nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k)\nPaid time off and holidays\nOngoing training and career growth opportunities\nSchedule: Monday to Friday\n7am-3:30pm\nWork Location: 2520 112th Street, South\nLakewood, WA 98499\nEqual Opportunity Employer: LEHR is an equal opportunity employer.
