Leidos is an American technology and engineering services company created in 2013 when Science Applications International Corporation split in two, with Leidos taking the technical services and solutions business. It is one of the largest suppliers to the United States government, working across defence programmes, intelligence systems, civil agencies including the Federal Aviation Administration, and healthcare services for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the company also builds security detection products for airports and borders, and has concentrated recent investment on trusted artificial intelligence and autonomy for mission environments.

At Leidos Australia, our work goes beyond a job title. We design, build, operate and support the systems, services and capabilities that help protect and advance the Australian way of life.

Backed by a global organisation of more than 40,000 people, our Australian team of around 2,000 has partnered with government, defence and national security customers for more than 30 years. We deliver mission-critical solutions where reliability, trust and purpose matter.

Leidos is a destination for people who want their work to have purpose, their contribution to be recognised, and their career to grow without needing to fit a single mould. Meaningful work is supported by benefits, flexibility and career pathways that help you grow while balancing life outside work. This includes:

  • Up to 12 Life Days of additional leave each year

  • Support for learning, development and relevant certifications

  • Opportunities to work across programs, domains and emerging technologies

  • Career pathways that can evolve with your interests, capability and ambition

About the Team

You’ll join a team where people work with integrity, inclusion, innovation, agility, collaboration and commitment. In practice, that means sharing ownership, solving complex problems together and staying connected to the customer context, the purpose behind the work and how each role contributes to meaningful outcomes.

We conduct airborne missions for the Australian Government across maritime surveillance and search and rescue operations. With bases strategically positioned across Australia, we operate a fully integrated in-house aviation capability which includes flight operations, maintenance organisation, training organisation and operations centre.

The Opportunity

This role is an opportunity to contribute to Airborne Solutions Operations by delivering outcomes that ensure our Flight Crew and Aircrew remain mission-ready, compliant, and available to support operational requirements. You will work closely with Flight Crew, Aircrew, Training Managers, Operations teams, and key stakeholders to coordinate rostering, training, travel, leave, and compliance activities that support the safe and efficient delivery of airborne services.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain compliant crew rosters for Flight Crew and Aircrew, balancing operational requirements, training commitments, leave, and maintenance schedules.

  • Coordinate initial and recurrent training schedules to ensure personnel maintain required qualifications and operational readiness.

  • Manage travel, accommodation, and logistics arrangements for crew and support personnel to support training and operational activities.

  • Monitor crew currency, licensing, medicals, and regulatory compliance requirements, proactively addressing any upcoming expiries or gaps.

  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders to optimise workforce utilisation, minimise disruptions, and continuously improve scheduling efficiency and service delivery.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.

Essential for this role:

  • Demonstrated experience in workforce scheduling, rostering, aviation operations, or a similar complex operational environment.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing operational requirements.

  • Sound understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and functions.

  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving capability, and proficiency using rostering, scheduling, and workforce management systems.

Advantageous, but not essential:

  • Experience scheduling or rostering within an aviation, emergency services, defence, or other 24/7 operational environment.

  • Understanding of CASA regulations, fatigue management principles, and aircrew compliance requirements.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen and hold, or be eligible to obtain, Baseline security clearance.

Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. In certain circumstances this can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1.

Applications close COB 16th October 2026.

If this role interests you, we encourage you to apply. We value different experiences and are interested in the capability and potential you could bring.
