The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, develop, configure, and deploy IaaS/PaaS and SaaS services within the Azure Cloud to fulfill end user requirements.\nThe position will support multiple engineering projects modernizing the DoD Environment, including the migration of applications from on-premise to the cloud and zero-trust network initiatives. (US Citizenship required)\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProvide thought leadership and mentoring to team of cloud engineers, including frequent collaboration with the other technical team leads and solutions engineers\nDesign and deploy as code system architecture for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services in the Azure Cloud\nProvide inputs to the design of the enterprise’s cloud and mission architecture\nEvaluate and support application architectures across platforms to ensure alignment to cloud and application modernization strategies, capabilities and requirements\nContinually identify opportunities for improvement, including innovations aimed at improving the user experience, improving efficiencies, and lowering sustainment costs\nEnforce security best practices and guidelines, leveraging knowledge of security policies, network security, and data security\nInitiate frequent interactions with the team of cloud engineers to identify areas of improvement and facilitate their career growth, including participation in annual performance reviews\nScale cloud solutions, and migrate data center capabilities to the cloud, enabling the support of Fourth Estate Networks and Users supporting approximately 400k users.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience\nExperience managing teams of engineers, including mentoring and fostering communication and collaboration across the team\nExpertise designing, deploying, and operating solutions built on Azure, AWS or GCP\nExperience with Identity Access Management (IDAM), AzureAD, and CyberArk, Okta or other modern ICAM solutions.\nExperience developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC), utilizing continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, and leveraging automation platforms such as Ansible or Azure Functions\nUnderstanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA\nAbility to work effectively within a distributed technical team, aided by strong written and verbal communication skills\nCurrent IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security + or CISSP\nPreferred Qualifications\nRecognized cloud certification, such as Microsoft Azure Associate Administrator\nFamiliarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
