In this role, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and modern IT services across AWS and Azure cloud environments that support critical Coast Guard missions. You will partner with government leadership and cross-functional technical teams to drive operational excellence, strengthen cybersecurity, modernize cloud services, and improve mission outcomes across the Coast Guard enterprise.\nReady to engineer solutions that matter?\nThe Cloud Operations Manager plays a central role in ensuring that the contract’s IT services and solutions are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with government regulations and service-level agreements (SLAs). This role bridges program management, technical execution, and customer liaison, with accountability for day-to-day operations. Some of the areas the candidate will be responsible for are service delivery and performance management, customer and stakeholder engagement, incident management, continuous improvement, modernization and people management activities.\n Primary Tasks:\nLead secure, reliable, and high-performing cloud and IT operations across AWS, Azure, cybersecurity, service desk, and application support environments supporting critical U.S. Coast Guard missions. \nDeliver operational excellence by ensuring contractual requirements, SLAs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and customer expectations are consistently achieved while driving a culture of continuous improvement. \nServe as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders, providing operational insights, executive-level performance reporting, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations that support mission success. \nLead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams, ensuring the right skills, resources, and priorities remain aligned to evolving operational and mission requirements. \nStrengthen the program's cybersecurity posture by maintaining compliance with federal security frameworks and standards, including FISMA, NIST RMF, FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, and Zero Trust initiatives. \nDrive rapid incident response, proactive problem management, and operational governance practices - including Change and Configuration Management - that improve service reliability and minimize mission disruption. \nPartner with agency security leadership to support audit readiness, vulnerability remediation, Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, continuous monitoring, and ongoing compliance efforts. \nAdvance cloud modernization initiatives by leveraging automation, cloud-native technologies, Agile delivery practices, ITIL service management, and DevSecOps methodologies to improve operational efficiency. \nCollaborate with cloud engineering teams to optimize cloud architectures, observability, performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency across mission workloads. \nLead operational governance through performance management, resource planning, workforce development, and strategic roadmap execution to ensure long-term program success. \nIdentify opportunities to enhance service delivery through developing innovation, automation, and operational best practices that improve customer outcomes and mission readiness. \nRepresent the program across cross-functional teams, government stakeholders, and enterprise modernization initiatives, helping shape the future direction of cloud operations supporting the U.S. Coast Guard. \nIdentify and solve complex problems that may involve multiple stakeholders, other projects or teams external to the Operations team - communicates with parties within and outside of own area and requires the ability to influence others on policies, practices and procedures. \n Basic Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.\n8+ years of IT operations management experience, including 3+ years in a federal contract environment. \n4+ years of experience supervising/leading teams or projects. \nExperience with ITIL-based service management, incident/problem/change/configuration processes. \nExperience with Agile based teams and workflows. \nStrong knowledge of federal IT compliance standards (FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, RMF). \nDemonstrated ability to manage cross-functional technical teams in high-availability environments. \nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. \nClearance Requirement:\nCurrent and active Public Trust/ADP1/IT-I. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPMP or equivalent project management certification. \nITIL v4 certification. \nCISSP, CISM, or related security certification. \nPrior experience supporting DoD, DHS, or Civilian agencies. \n Certifications:\nOne or more of the following certs is good to have:\nCompTIA Security+, SysOps Administrator, AWS SysOps Admin, MS Azure Admin, or other Cloud certifications, particularly in Azure and/or AWS. \nActive management certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant credentials. \nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
