This role is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining Configuration Management (CM) processes for developmental and operational systems throughout the system lifecycle, from initial requirements and capability baselines through system end-of-life. The individual will work closely with engineering, developmental, operational, logistics, and Government teams to establish and maintain configuration baselines, manage change control, conduct configuration audits, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with customer and program requirements.\nThe Configuration Management Specialist will develop and implement CM plans, policies, procedures, standards, and processes; leverage automated configuration management tools; coordinate software release management; and provide technical guidance, training, and process improvement recommendations. The individual will also support configuration tracking, risk management, technical engagements, and reporting to promote system integrity, operational effectiveness, and mission success.\nThis is a 100% on-site position. All work must be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management plans, policies, procedures, standards, and baselines for developmental and operational systems throughout the system lifecycle.\nManage configuration items and change control processes, including evaluating proposed changes, assessing impacts, coordinating stakeholder reviews, documenting decisions, and updating approved baselines.\nConduct configuration audits and baseline assessments to verify the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of system configurations, technical documentation, and project artifacts.\nRecommend and implement automated configuration management tools, version control solutions, and centralized repositories to support configuration tracking, documentation, and reporting.\nCoordinate COTS/GOTS software release management, technical engagements, and configuration activities across engineering, development, operations, logistics, and Government teams.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, configuration records, change logs, project artifacts, and knowledge bases documenting system changes, outages, and technical decisions.\nDevelop and maintain an Internet Protocol Address Management (IPAM) system in coordination with technical teams, as required.\nIdentify and mitigate configuration management risks and issues; develop reports, metrics, and briefings; and implement process improvements to support program objectives and operational effectiveness.\nProvide training, mentoring, and technical guidance on configuration management processes, tools, and best practices while coordinating priorities and promoting collaboration across teams.\nBasic Qualifications\nRequires a Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree\nDemonstrated experience supporting Configuration Management in a large, complex, or Government environment, including managing hardware and software configuration baselines.\nExperience with change control, configuration audits, baseline assessments, technical documentation, and configuration management throughout the system lifecycle.\nExperience developing CM plans, policies, procedures, SOPs, and process improvements, along with familiarity with automated configuration management and version control tools.\nFamiliarity with ITIL practices related to Configuration Management, risk and issue management, and project planning.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across technical teams and prepare documentation, reports, and briefings for Government and senior program stakeholders.\nSecurity Clearance\nDue to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.\nTS/SCI with CI Poly is required for position or a TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a Poly.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience serving as a Configuration Management Lead, Configuration Manager, or senior technical subject matter expert supporting the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, Federal Government, or another highly regulated environment.\nExperience with Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs), enterprise configuration management tools, IP Address Management (IPAM) systems, and version control tools such as Git, Subversion, or CVS.\nFamiliarity with ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or other Configuration Management and process improvement methodologies or certifications.\nExperience coordinating COTS/GOTS software releases, technical reviews, configuration audits, and cross-functional engineering activities.\nExperience developing configuration management metrics, dashboards, technical briefings, and process documentation for Government or senior program stakeholders.\nundefined\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
