The selected candidate will operate on complex engineering efforts, influence technical direction, and help standardize Platform and DevOps practices across teams.\nThis role requires expertise in Kubernetes, GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps deployment models. This position will support both internal and customer-facing projects involving, but not limited to, infrastructure platform management, application containerization, pipeline implementation and management, infrastructure as code development, automation development, and cloud migrations. Bring your own experience and work with our team to teach and learn while building, maintaining, and supporting our customers’ environments.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nIn this Role you will:\nDevelop, configure, manage, and maintain the Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift) platform running in AWS, including cluster upgrades, patching, monitoring, capacity management, reporting, compliance management and platform troubleshooting. Collaborate and Coordinate with DevOps, Development, and Cloud Operations teams to address hosting compute, networking, and storage requirements and maintaining platform availability and performance.\nPartners with application development teams to deploy and operate containerized applications on OpenShift, providing guidance on deployment configurations, resource requirements, and CI/CD integration, and troubleshooting deployment and runtime issues while maintaining platform security and operational standards.\nLead proactive, data-driven improvements to the Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift) platform and supporting AWS infrastructure, using observability data-including reporting, metrics, logs, and capacity trends-to identify reliability risks, performance bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities. Provide technical direction, prioritize and implement improvements, refine monitoring and alerting, and validate measurable gains in platform stability, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.\nDesign, Configure, Implement and improve GitOps workflows, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD integrations to automate Platform configuration and support repeatable application deployments.\nLead GitOps development pipeline designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of containerization service implementations and designs\nLead implementation and optimization of GitOps workflows.\nWork with teams, across Leidos and customers, to understand, develop, deploy, and configure Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and DevOps requirements for existing and upcoming projects.\nWorking in an Agile process to plan your work into sprints and participate in daily scrum meetings.\nDevelop IaC and automation capabilities for use across customer environments.\nDesign, Configure, and implement container-based deployment solutions for enterprise applications.\nDevelop, Configure, and implement automation and tooling to improve reliability and operational efficiency.\nImprove and troubleshoot existing container orchestration environments, primarily OpenShift.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex platform and deployment issues with minimal oversight.\nBasic Qualifications:\nRequires BS and a minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with a minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.\nAbility to obtain Public Trust Clearance, or greater.\nParticipates in team On-call responsibilities.\nExperience with Red Hat OpenShift, including setup, configuration, and administration\nProficient with Python or equivalent programming language.\nExperienced in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton).\nExperienced in Agile teams and using tools such as Jira for project and work tracking.\nProficiency in container technologies such as Docker.\nDemonstrated experience designing and implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and/or Ansible,\nExperienced with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.\nExperienced with cloud-first, AWS/Azure native architectures and cloud PaaS & SaaS services.\nMust be committed to adopting and adhering to DevOps Industry best practices.\nAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.\nMentor junior engineers and review technical implementations to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nMust be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking.\nCapability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives.\nMust be capable of performing high-quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.\nAbility to interact positively, collaborate and communicate appropriately with team members.\nObtain a baseline 8140 certification [IAT Level II) CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, SSCP] within 3 months of hire date.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nKubernetes Certifications (CKA, CKAD)\nExperience standardizing engineering objectives across cloud and containerization platforms.\nRelevant certifications, such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).\nDoD secret clearance and 8140 Level II Security+ certification.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
