This role is part of a 10-year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where you’ll contribute to mission-critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth-oriented team.\nWhile the majority of work is performed on-site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.\nAs a DevOps Software Engineer, you’ll design, maintain, secure, and improve automated software build, test, artifact, and deployment pipelines to enable product teams to deliver software reliably through standardized, repeatable, and observable DevSecOps workflows.\nYou will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:\nDesign, develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for application build, test, security scanning, packaging, promotion, deployment, and release activities.\nImplement standardized pipeline templates, reusable automation, and self-service delivery capabilities for product development teams.\nIntegrate automated unit testing, code-quality analysis, dependency scanning, container-image scanning, infrastructure/configuration validation, and other DevSecOps controls into CI/CD workflows.\nUse Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.\nManage and support source-control integration, branching strategies, build triggers, artifact repositories, container registries, versioning, and release-promotion processes.\nSupport GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, configuration-as-code, and automated environment provisioning practices.\nTroubleshoot failed builds, pipeline errors, deployment failures, artifact issues, configuration drift, and CI/CD tool integration problems.\nMonitor CI/CD pipeline health, performance, reliability, throughput, and failure trends; identify and implement improvements.\nProvide support to the Platform Team for platform-related activities, such as deployment troubleshooting, Kubernetes configuration support, Elastic integration, observability, and automation.\nParticipate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities. \nTo be successful in this role you need the following (required qualifications):\nYou’re enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds. You also meet the following qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master’s.\nActive TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph. \nDemonstrated hands-on experience designing, developing, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines for production software systems using platforms, such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or equivalent.\nExperience with source control and collaborative development workflows using Git, including branching, merge requests/pull requests, tagging, release branches, and code review processes.\nExperience building and managing containerized applications using Docker or comparable container technologies.\nWorking knowledge of Kubernetes deployment concepts, including manifests, secrets, namespaces, and Helm, or comparable tooling.\nExperience with artifact repositories and container registries, such as Nexus, Artifactory, Harbor, GitLab Registry, or equivalent.\nExperience integrating automated testing, static code analysis, dependency scanning, software composition analysis, container-image scanning, or security gates into delivery pipelines.\nExperience developing automation using scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, PowerShell, Go, or equivalent.\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, or deployment templating tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize, or equivalent.\nAbility to troubleshoot across application build, testing, packaging, containerization, deployment, networking, configuration, and environment layers.\nYou will wow us even more if you have some of these skills:\nKnowledge of Agile methodologies\nHands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and operations.\nTroubleshooting pod failures, networking issues, image pulls, scheduling constraints, and application connectivity\nExperience supporting or administering at least one shared data or application platform service, such as Elastic, Redis, message queues, API gateways, or similar distributed services\nFamiliarity with infrastructure and platform automation tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Bash, Python, or equivalent\nWorking knowledge of platform security practices\nExperience with monitoring and observability tools and practices\nAbility to create and maintain clear technical documentation.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.\nDevelopment experience (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.)\nLeidos is a Fortune 500® information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services leader working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
