Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager who is passionate about electric utility design engineering. This position will be working with our growing Power Distribution Engineering team. This role will require leading other distribution engineers, oversight and QAQC of both simple and complex engineering projects, working directly with clients, and ensuring the Leidos reputation of high quality is maintained.
Location: This position offers a remote work arrangement with the expectation of transitioning to a hybrid or fully in-office role in the future. Preference will be given to candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan area (Western Pennsylvania) to support local utility clients as business needs require. The selected candidate must be available to attend in-person meetings, site visits, and client engagements throughout the Pennsylvania service territory on an as-needed basis.
Background must haves
- 5+ years of prior relevant experience is required
- Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred); additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
- Execution of distribution projects from kickoff through design approved
- Experience with utility reliability projects
- QAQC expertise
- Customer interaction
- Process documentation
- Experience with the NESC
- Candidate ideally lives in Western PA / Pittsburgh
Nice to haves
- Professional Engineering License
- Experience managing a large program with many direct reports
- Experience providing estimated costs, and developing Bills of Matials
- Experience with design tools such as Pole Foreman, O-Calc, Spida-Calc
- Experience using Distribution Design Studio (DDS) - performing Electric Distribution Design
- Experience with the Work Management System CREWS
- Relevant management experience of 1+ years
- Relevant experience with the utility FirstEnergy

Typical Day
- 10%-30% working with client remotely
- 60%-80% Engineering and development of design pkgs for customer
- 10% admin/planning/customer follow up

Pay Range:
Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
