Interns are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of design engineering activities that include concept development, architecting, implementing, and testing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) including power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, microcontroller designs. There are also additional skill development opportunities through participation in printed circuit board layout, signal integrity analysis, power distribution network design, technical trade studies, and evaluation of technology improvements. The selected candidate will work closely with their assigned mentor on tasks that are beneficial to the intern's skills development and valuable to the programs with which they are working. The ideal candidate will thrive in a learning environment that encourages leadership and technical growth.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAssist in the design, simulation, modeling and testing of hardware solutions.\nWorking with design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium for PCB design, SPICE, and Visio.\nDevelop and execute hardware verification plans.\nDebug hardware using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.\nCollaborate with team members on hardware projects.\nBasic Qualifications\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited college/ university and currently working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nHolds a GPA of 3.0 or higher.\nIncludes resume and unofficial transcripts in application.\nDemonstrates problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.\nBasic understanding of circuit theory and design.\nExposure to at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, or C/C++).\nMust be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.\nAble to work onsite in Huntsville, AL during summer 2027.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCoursework or project experience with:Multi-layer PCB design or layout\nDigital logic design (VHDL/Verilog, FPGAs, or microcontrollers)\nPower electronics or switched-mode power supplies\n\nRF fundamentals or communication systems\nHands-on laboratory experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters)\nFamiliarity with Design tools (Mentor Graphics, Altium, KiCad, or similar)\nPrevious internship, co-op, or undergraduate research experience in hardware design\nPersonal projects or competition experience (IEEE, robotics, etc.) demonstrating electrical engineering skis\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
