The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing teams of engineers focused on improving the current DES single service provider (SSP) integrated environment to efficiently scale, deliver, and sustain the DES service offering to the 4th Estate customers, to include measurable efforts with implementing automation, strengthening the cyber security posture, pre-positioning the DoDNet environment for scalability, improved performance, reduced redundancies (flattening the network), and increased efficiencies in sustaining the SSP environment.\nThis position will focus on delivering enhanced network capabilities for the DISA network. These projects may include the implementation of Zero-Trust policies, the migration of network services, and the implementation of IPv6. As the engineering manager, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the on time and on budget completion of these projects. This will include daily management of engineering resources, hosting regular status meetings with the government, and coordinating the removal of obstacles with other engineering teams and government leaders.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nResponsible for the planning, coordination and management of the engineering teams \nCoordinate team activities to meet contractual milestones \nCoordinate with government stakeholders to provide updates on status and schedule \nCollect, document, prioritize, and communicate requirements for the project to ensure clarity in tasking across all team members \nReassign tasking to accommodate emerging priorities or address lagging activities \nPromote open communication and collaboration across the team, including daily stand-ups, team channels, and fostering an environment of trust and inclusivity \nEmploy interpersonal communication skills necessary to inspire, direct, and manage an agile team with technical personnel of all experience levels \nContinuously seek opportunities for improvement and coordinate with leadership to implement changes \nEscalate blockers and issues that cannot be resolved within the team \nFacilitate the professional growth of the team members by providing regular constructive feedback, helping define clear and attainable goals, and pursuing opportunities for advancement \nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience \nAn active DoD Secret clearance. (US Citizenship required) \nCurrent IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE or CISSP (IAM Level II/III as required by the position).\nExperience managing teams of engineers, including mentoring and fostering communication and collaboration across the team \nExperience managing IT projects for the DoD or other U.S. Government agencies \nProven ability to execute projects effectively, including management of staffing, schedule, and cost \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and a strong problem-solving mindset \nFamiliarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience managing the implementation of Network Segmentation, Full Stack IPv6, and/or Infoblox DDI \nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
