Geospatial Analyst Solutions Directorate, part of the National Solutions Business Area, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-Level Front-End Software Engineer for the Maru Program. The Maru Program delivers mission-critical, modern software solutions across our customer’s enterprise using Agile, DevSecOps, and cloud-native methodologies.\nAs a Front-End Software Engineer, you will design, develop, integrate, and maintain responsive web applications supporting complex mission workflows. You will work closely with backend engineers, product owners, and end users to translate mission requirements into reliable, intuitive, and production-ready front-end capabilities.\nThe ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and front-end software development, along with experience integrating applications with backend services and REST APIs.\nClearance Level Required\nActive TS/SCI with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination.\nEssential Responsibilities\nFront-End Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar technologies.\nApplication Integration: Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs, backend services, and data sources.\nSoftware Development: Develop reusable, maintainable, and scalable front-end components following modern software engineering practices.\nUser Interface Development: Translate requirements and user workflows into intuitive, functional interfaces for complex mission applications.\nPerformance Optimization: Troubleshoot and improve application performance, responsiveness, reliability, and scalability.\nTesting & Debugging: Perform front-end testing, debugging, code reviews, and defect resolution throughout the software development lifecycle.\nDevSecOps: Participate in CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated builds, and application deployment processes.\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers, product owners, testers, and mission users to deliver integrated software capabilities.\nAgile Development: Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.\nBasic Qualifications\nU.S. citizenship is required per contract.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.\nExperience developing applications using a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or similar.\nExperience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs and backend services.\nExperience developing, debugging, and maintaining production web applications.\nExperience with source control tools such as Git.\nExperience working in Linux-based environments.\nAbility to translate technical and user requirements into functional software solutions.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with TypeScript.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated front-end build/deployment workflows.\nExperience with Docker, containers, or containerized application environments.\nExperience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.\nExperience with AWS or other cloud environments.\nExperience with data visualization technologies such as Grafana or similar tools.\nFamiliarity with accessibility and usability best practices.\nExperience working in Agile software development environments.\nExperience developing applications supporting data-intensive or GEOINT mission workflows.\nFamiliarity with UI design/prototyping tools such as Figma is a plus.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
