In this portfolio, Leidos provides various IT services, engineering, and technical support for customers primarily within the Department of Justice. Support includes managed IT services, managed service desk (Tier 1), deskside support (Tier 2), workstation and server engineering and maintenance, security, managed print services, ITSM, infrastructure, Agile development, and end user support to name a few.\nThe IT desktop engineering team supports, manages, upgrades, and configures a variety of IT infrastructure tools necessary for our customers to successfully use the IT environment. This includes items such as packaging workstation software, building workstation images. The team manages the testing and deployment of baseline workstation patches ensuring they are deployed in a timely manner. They also provide tier 3/tier 4 support for workstation issues escalated by the Service Desk. The intern will help the team in a variety of ways, including but not limited to documenting installation steps, creating knowledge base articles, and collecting test results from users. This is an exciting opportunity to learn some of the “nuts and bolts” underpinning IT operations, and help our customers in the process.\nThe individual selected for this position should be pursuing a degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or computer science and should have a broad technical background. The candidate should have the ability to multitask and juggle numerous priorities and customers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will help the intern be successful.\nLocation: Remote optional if approved\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nAssist the engineering team with application troubleshooting\nAssist the engineering team with software packaging, including testing and deployment\nHelp document root causes of IT issues\nParticipate in troubleshooting sessions to help resolve system issues\nDraft technical documents to help others better understand the IT environment\nMonitor system state of health and take action to resolve issues\nOther duties as assigned\nBasic Qualifications:\nCurrently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.\nUS Citizenship is required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.\nExcellent written and verbal communications skills\nAbility to multitask and function in a quick-paced environment.\nIT Skills\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPast experience with ATF\nCompTIA A+ Certification\nExperience providing IT support for law enforcement operations.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
