This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist looking to build hands-on experience in radiochemistry, nuclear instrumentation, and environmental laboratory operations while working alongside experienced professionals.\nIn this role, you will support the analysis, tracking, and reporting of environmental soil, water, and air samples while receiving training in radiochemical analytical techniques, laboratory instrumentation, laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and laboratory quality and safety procedures. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise in a highly regulated laboratory environment supporting an important environmental remediation mission.\nStandard work hours will be 7:00 am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.\nAbility to travel approximately 20% as needed.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssist with the analysis of environmental soil, water, and air samples.\nLearn to operate and maintain radiological laboratory instrumentation, including gamma and alpha spectrometry systems.\nPerform environmental and radiochemical analyses under the guidance of experienced laboratory staff.\nUtilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to accurately track samples and maintain laboratory records.\nEnsure laboratory documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with quality standards.\nFollow all laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance requirements.\nSupport day-to-day laboratory operations and other duties as assigned.\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma and at least a year of relevant experience in areas such as labs or research.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.\nWillingness to work full-time onsite in St. Louis, MO.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Geology, Biology, or another STEM discipline preferred.\nIf you're looking to launch your career in environmental science and radiochemistry while supporting a mission that helps restore and protect communities, we'd like to hear from you.\nMust be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance; due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent residency is required.\nThis position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as minimum Health and Welfare benefits.
