This work supports the FAA’s initiative to replace aging legacy flight service infrastructure with scalable, cloud-based platforms that improve safety and operational efficiency, particularly in remote and high-dependency aviation environments.\nThis is a dual-responsibility position on a Scaled Agile team, split roughly 50% Scrum Master and 50% DevSecOps Platform Engineer. As Scrum Master, you will guide Agile/SAFe processes, facilitate team ceremonies, remove impediments, and partner with the Product Owner, Systems Engineers, and developers to align priorities and drive delivery. As Lead DevSecOps Platform Engineer, you will design, implement, and continuously improve secure software delivery platforms and automated pipelines, integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle.\nThe platform engineering portion of this role focuses on the software delivery platform, GitLab administration, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and developer enablement. Cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes administration, and cloud operations are handled in partnership with the Cloud Systems Owner team. You will work with software engineers, systems engineers, cybersecurity personnel, Product Owners, and solution architects to ensure software is developed, validated, and deployed rapidly while meeting the security and compliance requirements of mission-critical FAA applications.\nThis position supports government programs and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust investigation.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nFacilitate and lead all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Retrospectives, and Reviews/Demos, using relevant metrics and data to drive continuous improvement.\nActively remove impediments by resolving blocking issues related to feature development, build and dependency challenges, operational support conflicts, and process.\nProvide timely status, risk, and dependency reporting to the Release Train Engineer and management, including sprint execution, team availability, and issues impacting delivery.\nOwn the implementation and operation of software delivery pipelines, from build through production release, developing, administering, and maintaining automated build, test, deployment, and release workflows using GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, and related automation technologies.\nAdminister GitLab platform infrastructure (projects, groups, runners, repositories, and permissions) and develop reusable CI/CD templates and pipeline libraries adopted across Agile teams.\nDesign and maintain automated deployment strategies for Kubernetes-based applications utilizing Helm, GitOps methodologies, and progressive deployment techniques.\nConfigure and administer GitLab Container Registry, package repositories, artifact repositories, and software dependency management solutions supporting secure software delivery.\nCollaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to ensure cloud platforms effectively support automated software deployment, scalability, operational monitoring, and application reliability.\nPartner with software development teams to improve build reliability, deployment consistency, release quality, and developer productivity through automation and self-service engineering capabilities.\nTroubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, pipeline performance, dependency management, and software delivery problems across development, integration, and production environments.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience.\nExperience working as a Scrum Master within the Agile Scrum framework, supporting Agile and SAFe software development organizations.\nExperience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines supporting enterprise software development.\nExperience developing and administering GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab Runners, pipeline templates, variables, artifacts, deployment workflows, and pipeline optimization.\nExperience administering GitLab repositories, merge requests, branching strategies, repository permissions, and source code management workflows.\nExperience developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies.\nExperience deploying containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) using Helm or comparable tools.\nExperience developing automation using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.\nFamiliarity with Linux administration and command-line tools.\nExperience with AWS cloud services supporting modern application deployments.\nKnowledge of software supply chain security, secrets management, dependency
