This role is ideal for a well-rounded software developer who brings strong traditional software engineering fundamentals along with experience or interest in developing and integrating AI-enabled capabilities.\nThe Lead Software Engineer will serve as a technical leader and work as part of an Agile development team to build scalable, secure, and reliable applications while leveraging modern development practices, cloud technologies, automation, and emerging artificial intelligence tools and frameworks. The Software Engineer will work alongside cross-functional teams and technical leaders to delivery predictable outcomes in a highly regulated, safety critical environment. The candidate will work on software that directly supports air traffic operations, applying AI tools to accelerate development, improve quality, and enhance system reliability.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nResponsible for software development activities both individually and as a member of a team, including writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining source code within an Agile environment.\nCollaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, data scientists, product owners, and other technical stakeholders to translate requirements into working software.\nWork within Agile/Scrum development environments and participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical design discussions.\nParticipate throughout the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications and services.\nDevelop software using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, C#, or similar technologies.\nDevelop automated unit, integration, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliability.\nUtilize modern DevOps and CI/CD practices to automate software builds, testing, deployment, and monitoring.\nTroubleshoot complex software issues and continuously improve application performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.\nEvaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, reliability, security, and performance\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline with relevant professional software development experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n8+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience\nFluent in English (both verbal and written) to effectively collaborate with team members and present reports and status.\nProfessional experience developing software using one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, or C#.\nExperience with object-oriented programming, software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and source control tools such as Git.\nExperience developing or integrating APIs, web services, microservices, or distributed applications.\nExperience with modern software development methodologies and the SDLC.\nFamiliarity with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.\nExperience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.\nUnderstanding of cloud-based application development using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.\nExposure to or experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-enabled application development.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working in the aviation industry or a similar high-tech field is a plus.\nExperience with large-scale distributed systems\nExperience working with safety critical or high availability software\nExperience integrating with legacy systems\nExperience reading and understanding large existing codebases\nExperience working in a global or multicultural environment is a plus\nExperience developing cloud-native applications and working with cloud-based AI services.\nExperience developing software in highly secure, regulated, mission-critical, or enterprise environments.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
