Occasional travel may be required for in-person engagements with internal customers and suppliers across multiple Leidos sites. This high-impact role reports directly to the Director, Global Supply Chain, and serves as an integrated member of the Defense Contracts and Supply Chain organization.\n\nYou’ll manage a team of Subcontracts professionals, provide strategic leadership, and act as a key interface between Leidos management and senior Contracts and Global Supply Chain management. You’ll serve as the primary liaison between subcontractors and multiple programs, contractually managing agreements of various types, typically of high dollar value, risk, and complexity. This role is ideal for a strategic supply chain leader who thrives in complex, government-regulated environments and understands how supplier ecosystems support mission-critical defense objectives.\n\nYou’ll collaborate closely with Contracts, Program Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Manufacturing, Growth, and Business Development, among others, to ensure the successful execution of your assigned portfolio. In addition to leading the team, you may have the opportunity to directly manage subcontracts on select programs when needed or help with special projects and corporate initiatives. You’ll align subcontract outcomes with program, business area, and sector objectives, communicate effectively, manage your time efficiently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and bring acute attention to detail. Explore more here.\n\nWhat You’ll Do (primary responsibilities)\n\nThe position requires great business acumen and the demonstration of sound judgment with a high level of ethics.\n\nManage the team’s workload, make assignments and set clear expectations, hold staff accountable to commitments and goals, oversee the quality of work under your responsibility, conduct performance reviews, and develop and encourage your team to perform at a high level.\n\nApply thorough knowledge of federal subcontracting and experience providing creative solutions to business and program requirements, while ensuring compliance with all prime customer requirements and commitments.\n\nLead negotiations and execution of strategic long-term agreements with key suppliers to support supply continuity, affordability, innovation, and long-term procurement savings.\n\nCollaborate with Contracts, Supply Chain, Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and other stakeholders to integrate supplier strategies early in capture, proposal, and program lifecycles.\n\nIdentify and mitigate complex issues or risks for the managed subcontract portfolio.\n\nTranslate supplier data into executive-ready insights, recommendations, and action plans that enable measurable savings, stronger supplier performance, improved compliance, and reduced Sector risk.\n\nWhat You Bring (basic qualifications)\n\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of prior relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n\nExperience awarding and managing subcontracts in a government-approved purchasing system (CPSR), including an advanced knowledge of the requirements of the FAR/DFARS, other Federal agency requirements, and small business participation.\n\nSuccessful background of using negotiating skills to maximize organizational return, minimize risk, and improve price and terms and conditions position.\n\nSuccessful track record of managing a variety of subcontract types and interfacing with internal customers, other functional support staff, and suppliers.\n\nExperience independently leading the subcontracts portion of proposal efforts.\n\nOrganizational skills to manage concurrent projects, and the business acumen to appropriately prioritize actions and deal effectively with subcontract management issues of varying degrees of complexity.\n\nAbility to communicate clearly, including presenting status updates and issues to senior management, internal partners, and suppliers.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US DoW security clearance.\n\nUS citizenship.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience supporting Department of Defense and Federal programs, programs of record, capture pursuits, and proposal development for large government acquisitions in the Defense/Aerospace industry.\n\nWorking knowledge of CPSR compliance, NIST SP 800-171, and cyber/supplier readiness requirements.\n\nKnowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.\n\nCPSM, CPC, CFCM, ISM, APICS, PMI PMP, or other relevant professional certification.\n\nExperience working with RF, electronic warfare, missile, radar, SATCOM, aviation, space, manufacturing, or advanced defense technology supply chains.\n\nExperience building strong supplier relationships that can be leveraged to assist in future issue resolution.\n\nExperience supervising or leading a team(s).\n\nWorking experience with ERP systems, ideally Deltek Costpoint and other procurement systems (e.g., Ivalua).\n\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
