You will work in a fast-paced and diverse environment assisting the program and management team with workflows for electronic case filings (ECF).\nBe part of a dynamic team in providing legal and technical services to support the Division of Offices, Boards and Divisions at the Department of Justice. In this role, you will gain skills, such as time and task management, critical thinking and problem solving, and the ability to communicate complicated problems in a concise manner.\nWorks under the direction of a Project Supervisor or Task Supervisor. Performs the following moderately complex tasks while complying with established procedures:\nDownloads electronic case filings (ECFs) from Pacer\n\nUploads the electronic case filings to the automated matters systems\n\nEnters filing information into a case tracking system\n\nCreates and provides links to the electronic case filings to the DOJ Attorneys\n\nResponds to DOJ attorney requests for filing information and retrieval\n\nCompiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents.\n\nConducts simple to moderately complex database searches\n\nPerforms simple legal research\n\nIndexes, tracks and controls document discovery, depositions, and trial.\n\nPrepares exhibit cross-references.\n\nAssists attorneys in courtroom.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nRequires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study. One (1) year of legal training or legal experience or at least two (2) years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.\n\nAt least one (1) year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience related to electronic case filing workflows.\n\nBasic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum.\n\nExperience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.\n\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTrial experience\n\nAutomated litigation support experience valued.\n\nPrior experience working in a Federal Government environment\n\nThis position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements.
