In this role, you will work alongside engineering managers and account managers to provide Project Management Services supporting a large electric utility client. You will work with a diverse blend of Capital Transmission/Substation in the greater Kentucky area including Louisville, Lexington and Cincinnati.\nThe Project Manager will be part of Leidos' Power Delivery Solutions Division that provides consulting services to both public- owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.\nAs a Leidos employee, you can look forward to career development and growth opportunities, including:\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification\nFormal Mentorship programs\nLearning & Development Resources\nTechnical Upskilling programs\nLeadership Training\nThis role has remote working capabilities, however, periodic travel to client sites throughout Kentucky area including Louisville and Lexington may be required.\nResponsibilities:\nLead electric utility project execution teams with a diverse set of contributors - including Engineering, Construction, Permitting, Siting, Environmental, Cost Controls and Scheduling functions - to deliver comprehensive capital transmission substation projects for electric utility clients.\nTake ownership of overall portfolio performance, including cost, schedule, and scope management\nInterface with clients and internal stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio\nMentor and develop project management staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning\nManage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes\nIdentify and pursue business development opportunities to support organizational growth\nEnsure compliance with contract requirements and quality control standards\nMaintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, subcontractors, and support personnel\nIdentify project risks and mitigation strategies\nBackground Requirements/Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field\nA minimum of 4+ years of progressive Project Management experience within the Electric Utility Industry; Experience as a Project Manager directly at an electric utility is strongly preferred\nDemonstrated Experience working with US Electric Utilities, and a comprehensive understanding of electric power and infrastructure projects is required\nDirect experience working with electric power infrastructure projects\nStrong leadership skills with a focus on portfolio management and team development\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to travel periodically as required\nProficiency utilizing Primavera P6 or MS Project suite with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel (must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Excel)\nCandidates with varying levels of experience may be considered, and pay ranges will be commensurate with selected candidates' experience and qualifications.\nYou Might Also Have:\nSupervisory experience including team building and talent acquisition \nPrevious experience working with Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities as a customer \nProven knowledge of PowerPlan enterprise project performance software \nPMP Certification or willingness to obtain within two years\nPrior experience in a leadership position\nDemonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams\nExperience with PowerBI and/or visualization tools\nWe pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
