The team focuses on leveraging our local engineering, our services expertise, and global products to bring new capabilities to the Australian Defence Force.\nThe Opportunity\nLeidos delivers critical capability in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence (CBRND), supplying protection technology and training to the Australian Defence Force. Our L&SS team procures, inspects, tests and delivers protective equipment, with an ongoing focus on technology that responds to developing CBRN threats.\nLocated at our Prestons site and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Technician will:\nPlan, coordinate and carry out quality control activities on CBRN protective technology.\nInspect, maintain and repair equipment in accordance with the Maintenance Management Plan.\nAccurately record calibration, servicing and work orders within the ERP system.\nReview CBRN systems, recommend improvements and contribute to the development and enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\nTravel will be a significant part of the role, with regular visits to different sites, including interstate travel.\nAbout You\nYou’ll bring practical technical capability and experience working in an environment where safety, quality and following established procedures are important.\nEssential:\nExperience in a facilities, manufacturing or warehouse environment, including working with SOPs or equivalent procedures.\nAbility to safely lift boxes weighing up to 20kg.\nA valid driver’s licence.\nAdvantageous:\nA certificate or relevant technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or a similar discipline.\nA forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.\nExperience inspecting, maintaining, repairing or calibrating technical equipment.\nDue to the nature of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain and hold a Baseline AGSVA security clearance.\nCertain roles may be subject International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements which may limit persons who hold dual nationality with certain proscribed countries from accessing material, or in the case of dual Australian-U.S citizens, may require the candidate to obtain a U.S. Persons Abroad authorisation from the U.S DDTC.\nIf this role interests you, we encourage you to apply.
