The selected candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate a cross-functional team’s activities to manage and implement project and interrelated projects from initiation to final operational stage.\nSMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of NGEN-R, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.\nPrimary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nDetermine, monitor, and review all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, sub-contractors, resources, and risk.\nIdentify and assemble the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements including sub-contractor selection.\nPlan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project.\nLead the project teams in determining client requirements and translating requirements into operational plans.\nFacilitate status review meetings among project team members and clients.\nWork with senior management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules. Propose and develop add-on program opportunities. \nMentor and train the customer and vendor in project management methods, procedures, and activities.\nControl project requirements, scope, and change management issues.\nCoach and counsel members of cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues.\nEstablish appropriate metrics for measuring key program criteria.\nDetermine and install appropriate automated systems for the management of projects.\nIdentify and recommend contingency measures.\nFacilitate the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders.\nAdvise senior management on project management capability and risk.\nMaintain awareness of emerging technologies and project management techniques.\n Basic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related technical field and a minimum of 8 years of experience.\nUS Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance\nMust possess a current Security+ and PMP certification\nExperience in creating and implementing plans for project goals and objectives\nWorking knowledge of project management concepts as defined by PMI\nRecent Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) experience (within the last 10 years).\nRecent experience with US Navy C5I amphibious communications systems (e.g. MUOS Functional Terminals/EMUT, HF-SAR, BFT2, Landing Force Iridium) and US Navy C5I systems used by amphibious forces (e.g. CANES, ADNS, DMR, STnG) is more favorable.\nExperience with military planning (Marine Corps Planning Process, Joint Planning Process, Operational Planning Teams).\nNGEN\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
