This is an Azure-primary role. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus, as the engineer will support secure integration between Azure, AWS and on-premises systems. The role also requires hands-on experience integrating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into cloud applications and engineering workflows.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep experience with Azure administration, identity services, Microsoft 365, multi-tenant environments and AI service integration. AWS experience is a differentiator.\nCandidate citizenship, clearance and location requirements/preferences:\nBe a US Citizen or US Person who has lived in the United States for the past three (3) consecutive years\nHolding a current Public Trust is preferred\nBe local to the DC Metro area for onsite work if needed preferred\nPrimary Responsibilities\nCloud Integration & Engineering\nIntegrate Azure services and Microsoft 365 GCC/GCC-High capabilities into enterprise environments to support application development, testing, and production readiness.\nConfigure and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and resource groups to support integrated cloud solutions.\nSupport hybrid identity environments, including Azure AD/Entra ID and AD Connect, ensuring reliable synchronization and access between on-premises and cloud systems.\nSupport secure cross-cloud integration between Azure, AWS, and on-premises systems.\nIdentity, Access & Security Integration\nImplement identity-driven integration approaches using Entra ID, MFA, SSO, RBAC, and role-based access models to ensure secure system-to-system and user-to-system interactions.\nApply cloud security best practices across Azure, Microsoft 365, and AI services to ensure proper governance, data protection, and compliance.\nSupport integration of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS resources across Azure commercial, GCC, and GCC-High environments.\nEngineering Collaboration & Automation\nCollaborate with developers, architects, and engineering teams to design and test integrated Azure services, AI-enabled applications, and multi-cloud solutions.\nAutomate cloud platform documentation, provisioning, and support workflows using Azure tools, scripting, infrastructure as code, and Power Platform automation.\nEvaluate emerging Azure, AI, and SaaS technologies to support continuous improvement and integration opportunities.\nAI Integration and Automation\nIntegrate AI and generative AI services, such as Azure OpenAI, into enterprise applications and workflows through secure APIs and approved cloud environments.\nDevelop and test AI-assisted solutions for document processing, information retrieval, and workflow automation, including prompt design and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) where appropriate.\nApply data privacy controls, access restrictions, output validation, and human review to AI solutions; evaluate response quality, latency, and cost before production use.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and eight (8) years of general IT or IT engineering experience. Six (6) additional years of general IT or IT engineering experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.\nDemonstrated proficiency with Azure Portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and infrastructure as code tools such as ARM templates, or Terraform.\nHands-on experience supporting Azure resource management, monitoring usage, enforcing governance, and optimizing integrated cloud workloads. Exposure to AWS resource management is a plus.\nDeep knowledge of Azure services, Microsoft 365, identity platforms, and cloud security configurations.\nHands-on experience integrating AI or generative AI services into applications or automation workflows, including API integration, prompt design, secure data handling, and validation of AI-generated outputs.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertifications in Azure Administration, Azure Development or Power Platform (Fundamentals/Associate/Developer/Architect).\nExperience integrating cloud services within HHS or similar federal agencies.\nExperience supporting or integrating solutions across Azure commercial, GCC, and GCC-High environments.\nBackground in evaluating and implementing emerging Azure, and AI technologies, particularly those tied to identity, collaboration, and automation.\nExperience implementing AI-enabled solutions in federal or regulated environments, including familiarity with model evaluation, RAG, and applicable data protection and authorization requirements.\nAWS Experience is a plus\nExperience configuring and managing AWS resources such as EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, and CloudWatch; proficiency with the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, and CloudFormation.\nExperience implementing AWS IAM, least-privilege access, encryption, secrets management, and audit logging for AWS workloads and cross-cloud integrations\nExperience designing or supporting secure integrations across Azure, AWS and on-premises environments\nAWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Development)\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
