Our team is seeking a Senior Electrical Design & Integration Engineer to work at our Huntsville, AL campus providing support to a variety of design, integration, and test programs related to missile systems and unmanned aircraft. This role offers a wide variety of hands-on work spanning avionics, integration, test, mission support, and field operations in development, prototype, and production environments. This is a dynamic opportunity in which talented engineers can thrive working on a diverse array of multidisciplinary projects in the kinetic effectors arena. We are in search of a highly motivated, trained, and talented electrical engineer to lead a development and integration team of multidisciplined engineers and technicians and to foster advanced technology programs through the complete product lifecycle from research and development through full production.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDesign, fabricate, analyze, and integrate hardware, firmware, and software solutions that successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges\nTest and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software in both lab and field environments\nDesign electrical and/or software architectures and integrated systems for real-time, mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and ground control systems\nCollaborate and communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and team members to determine and develop hardware and software requirements\nContribute to system hardware and software architecture decisions based on customer performance requirements, schedule, and cost constraints including build vs. buy trades\nSupport task execution including electrical system design, avionics design, payload integration, analog/digital/RF printed circuit board hardware design, FPGA and hardware description language development, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, system debugging, and systems engineering\nWork independently as part of a broader multi-disciplined engineering team\nWork collaboratively with project teams to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and products across a broad range of applications\nCoordinate with purchasing department and outside board/cable shops to procure hardware\nWork in a lab environment testing and integrating hardware\nWork closely with manufacturing teams to facilitate the transition from prototype hardware to a deliverable product\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 8 or more years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 6 or more years of relevant experience\nDemonstrated capabilities in the following areas: electrical system design, electrical circuit design and simulation, hardware and software interface design and integration, software or firmware development, troubleshooting/debugging hardware/software in a lab and/or field environment\nParts selection, electrical schematic capture, and wiring harness design experience\nUnderstanding of PC board layout design and SMT manufacturing experience\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nConstructive collaboration within and among multi-disciplinary teams\nAvailability to travel to support testing and other events (average 10%)\nUS citizenship\nActive SECRET security clearance or the ability to obtain one\nPreferred Qualifications\nRF and/or switching power supply design experience\nFPGA and HDL design experience\nField testing and debugging\nSensor instrumentation experience (acceleration, velocity, position, pressure)\nExperience with development and testing of flight hardware\nRadio communication links and GPS/INS systems\nRapid prototyping, integration, and test experience\nRequirements-based design and test planning\nTechnical leadership\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
