The engineer for this role will assist in troubleshooting complex problems and implementing cutting-edge solutions. As such, this individual must be an excellent problem solver and work well in a collaborative team environment. Candidate must have proven hands-on experience working as a network engineer. OCONUS experience is highly desired.\n50% travel to OCONUS location.\nThe program is made up of CONUS and OCONUS teams who regularly interact across varying time zones. As a result, the candidate must have excellent communication skills and be flexible with regards to teamwork and tasking. A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve results in a timely manner is desired.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nInstall, configure, and troubleshoot network appliances (routers, switches, and firewalls)\n\nMonitor entire network infrastructure (LAN & WAN) and provide regular reporting\n\nCollaborate closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure network optimization and the completion of other tasks\n\nEnsure network uptime, performance, and security\n\nDocument and enforce network standards\n\nManage and maintain IP addressing schema\n\nTravel OCONUS as needed\n\nMaintain network lab in Chantilly, VA\n\nREQUIRED Skills, Experience, and Education: \nMaster's degree and at least 12 years minimum experience depending on education, training, skills and experience. Experience requirement may be reduced with Doctorate degree in network engineering, computer science, or related subject.\n\nMust possess an active and in-scope TS/SCI With Poly to be considered\n\nActive/current basic CCNA certification\n\nSolid understanding of OSI or TCP/IP model\n\nHands-on experience with network monitoring, network diagnostics, and network analytics tools\n\nExperience configuring/troubleshooting Cisco appliances\n\nExperience configuring/troubleshooting routing and switching, including routing protocols\n\nExperience writing scripts for Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls\n\nAbility to work well individually, as well as within a team environment, and always maintain professional behavior with all stakeholders.\n\nAbility to lift 50 lbs. and climb 30 ft.\n\nDesired Qualifications:\nCCNA/CCNP Security certification\n\nExperience working with Cisco ASA/Firepower and Juniper SRX appliances\n\nExperience implementing and troubleshooting IPSec VPN tunnels\n\nDeep understanding of networking protocols, i.e., IPSEC, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS\n\nExperience installing and troubleshooting iDirect VSATs\n\nExperience using Solarwinds Performance Monitor and Configuration Manager\n\nExperience implementing and troubleshooting AWS\n\nExperience implementing and troubleshooting VoIP & PBX systems\n\nExperience implementing and troubleshooting Asterisk\n\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
