This role is responsible for the design, development, integration, and optimization of mission-critical Salesforce solutions supporting customer relationship management (CRM), knowledge management (KM), public-facing portals, and other enterprise business functions.\nThe successful candidate will serve as both a hands-on technical contributor and Salesforce solution architect, providing leadership throughout the entire software development lifecycle-from requirements analysis and solution design to development, testing, deployment, and operational support. This individual will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with organizational objectives.\nPlease Note: This is 100% telework/remote opportunity. However, candidate must be/reside in the Gaithersburg, MD/Washington, DC metro area.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSolution Architecture & Technical Leadership:\nDesign scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.\n\nLead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance for Salesforce implementations, enhancements, and integrations.\n\nEvaluate business requirements and translate them into technical solutions utilizing Salesforce platform capabilities and industry best practices.\n\nServe as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on Salesforce capabilities, limitations, and strategic roadmap opportunities.\n\nMentor and guide developers, administrators, and project teams on Salesforce development standards and architecture best practices.\n\nSalesforce Development & Configuration:\nPerform hands-on development using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce APIs.\n\nConfigure and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, flows, validation rules, security models, and automation processes.\n\nDesign and implement custom applications and reusable components within the Salesforce ecosystem.\n\nDevelop robust testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and deployment validation activities.\n\nIntegration & Data Management:\nDesign and implement integrations between Salesforce and external enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms, and event-driven architectures.\n\nLead complex data migration, transformation, and synchronization initiatives.\n\nEnsure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across Salesforce environments.\n\nOptimize platform performance and scalability through effective data architecture and solution design.\n\nAgile Delivery & Operations:\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout project delivery.\n\nConduct peer code reviews and enforce development standards, CI/CD processes, and DevOps best practices.\n\nSupport production deployments, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, OR in a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience maybe considered and/or accepted in lieu of degree.\n\n8+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing Salesforce solutions in enterprise environments.\n\n8+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.\n\nContact Center experience.\n\nFederal Government experience.\n\nDemonstrated experience leading complex Salesforce projects and technical teams.\n\nTechnical Skills:\nDeep understanding of Salesforce architecture, security model, data model, and platform best practices.\n\nExtensive experience with: Apex, Lightning Web Components , Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce APIs, Platform Events, Salesforce Flow, Lightning App Builder, Experience Cloud.\n\nStrong knowledge of Salesforce integration patterns and enterprise architecture.\n\nProficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern web application development frameworks.\n\nExperience with source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.\n\nUS Citizen.\n\nRequired Salesforce Certifications (1 or more):\nSalesforce Certified Administrator.\n\nSalesforce Certified Platform App Builder.\n\nSalesforce Certified Platform Developer I.\n\nSalesforce Certified Platform Developer II.\n\nAdditional Experience:\nExperience supporting federal government programs and regulated environments.\n\nExperience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, and Knowledge Management solutions.\n\nExperience implementing AI-powered Salesforce capabilities, Agentforce, Einstein, or predictive analytics solutions.\n\nKnowledge of FedRAMP, NIST, and government security compliance requirements.\n\nPlease Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $150,000 to low/high $160,000 with a slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment.
