ERAM is the core air traffic control system used at all U.S. high-altitude Enroute control centers. ERAM processes and displays radar surveillance and flight data for air traffic controllers, enabling them to safely manage aircraft flying between airports across the National Airspace System (NAS). The system supports NextGen modernization initiatives such as ADS-B, Data Communications, and System Wide Information Management (SWIM).\nLocation: Gaithersburg, MD\nResponsibilities:\nResponsible for management of full Software Development lifecycle activities for product area(s) including design, code, unit and string testing of features/fixes, development of SW CDRLs, integration and test support for their product area, as well as site issue support\nLead productivity improvements and adoption/use of AI in daily business rhythms\nTrack and report Software status, generating detailed test reports and artifact packages for stakeholders and clients.\nControl Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities for applicable control accounts.\nCost estimating, workload and manpower planning, including authoring Basis of Estimates (BOEs), in support of team's current and future business needs on the program (e.g. proposals and task order preparation)\nManage and track schedules, risks, opportunities, defects, change requests, and action items.\nEnsure delivery of quality work products, including specifications, code, plans and procedures, in accordance with program requirements\nFacilitate planning meetings, peer reviews, and customer-facing sessions to align with Software objectives and schedules.\nIdentify requirements for subcontractor support to ERAM SW, where applicable.\nDevelop and conduct interim and performance reviews for the department personnel, initiate award programs and other employee personnel activities\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9+ years of professional experience; or a master’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 7+ years of professional experience.\nAbility to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.\nExperience leading a diverse Software team; directing activities of a team\nExperience with workload, staffing and personnel management\nExperience on a large-scale software development program in a software engineering leadership capacity\nStrong communication skills to interface with internal and external customers\nExperience driving team to critical milestones\nDesired Skills:\nThe successful candidate will possess advanced leadership skills and the ability to work independently in the following categories of leadership:New system functionality integration\nProblem Determination\nExperience with proposal/estimation\nSoftware coding experience in Java/C/C++\n\nA good academic understanding and/or exposure to Systems and Software engineering practices and processes to contribute to and/or manage: requirements engineering, system and software architecture analysis, software development, source/baseline control management and system integration.\nHighly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environment\nAir Traffic Knowledge and experience working on Air Traffic programs\nATMC\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
