This role is responsible for ensuring storage availability, performance, scalability, security, and operational resilience across production and non-production systems. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in storage architecture, SAN/NAS administration, data protection, performance tuning, lifecycle management, and cross-functional infrastructure support.\nCandidates must demonstrate a high degree of problem-solving ability in a complex environment and be able to communicate effectively, both to the customer and to team members.\nClearance: Current Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of consideration.\nKey Responsibilities:\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Storage Engineer with demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise storage environments.\nCandidate will be responsible for:\nServe as a subject-matter expert for engineering, administration, and support of enterprise storage environments, with primary focus on NetApp and Dell Unity platforms.\nDesign and maintain highly available, scalable storage solutions for file, block, and hybrid workloads.\nPerform provisioning, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of storage systems.\nManage and optimize storage environments, including aggregates, volumes, SVMs, snapshots, replication, quotas, tiering, and protocol configuration.\nAdminister NetApp, Dell EMC, Hitachi storage arrays, including pools, LUNs, file systems, NAS servers, snapshots, replication, FAST VP/tiering, and host connectivity.\nSupport SANand NAS infrastructure, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS protocols.\nEnsure system compliance with DISA STIG and DoD security requirements by leading critical hardening efforts.\nMonitor storage health, capacity, utilization, and performance; identify trends and recommend remediation or expansion strategies.\nPlan and execute data migration efforts between legacy and target storage platforms with minimal downtime.\nImplement and support business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities, including snapshot policies, replication, failover, and recovery testing.\nDevelop and maintain documentation related to storage architecture, processes, and procedures.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree with 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or master’s degree with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree. \nCurrent Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of consideration.\nThe candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8140.03 / DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) at the time of consideration.\nAdvanced knowledge of storage systems architecture, lifecycle engineering, and infrastructure modernization principles.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience supporting large-scale Windows and Linux server environments.\nExperience with storage migrations using native and third-party tools.\nKnowledge of backup platforms such as Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup, or similar.\nFamiliarity with automation tools such as Ansible or PowerCLI for automation tasks.\nPrior work within the Department of Defense and familiarity with its IT environments.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
