The position will be part of an IT team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, configuration management, monitoring and troubleshooting of the IT infrastructure.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nPerform daily system administration, operation and maintenance support activities in support of a physical and virtual environment.\nProvide primary support and management of the IT server infrastructure and hosted systems, focusing on areas like Active Directory, permissions, storage, Group Policy, etc.\nSupport first-tier technical staff with troubleshooting and the resolution of more complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases, and system access.\nAnalyze and resolve hardware and software problems for end users, with primary emphasis on server-related issues.\nSupport System Administration of primary Omnissa/VMWare platforms across the site, among other technologies\nWorks with hardware/software vendors to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues. \nRecommend hardware and software solutions to meet end user and IT needs.\nSupport Cyber Security compliance and audit preparation in coordination with the Cyber Security Team.\nConsults with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into both operational and project objectives.\nRemain conversant with the industry’s computer security technology and practices with technical skills and applicable experience with related technologies.\nDefine and document best practices, technical guides and support procedures\nInteract with cross functional project teams including Software Development, Helpdesk, User Support, Cyber Security, Software Quality Assurance, End-Users and Oversight.\nParticipate in the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation to ensure clear, concise and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolution\nRemediate security vulnerabilities\nCommunicates effectively via Microsoft Teams, email and phone.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 2-6 years of experience.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.\nExceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with proven success in enterprise systems administration.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.\nExperience with Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems and/or Oracle, RHEL, and Linux Operating Systems.\nHands-on experience in maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of enterprise systems and networks.\nSolid operational knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux platforms, as well as network equipment, topology, and architectures.\nAbility to read and execute complex software installation, upgrade, and infrastructure deployment instructions.\nStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior DOE site experience.\nActive DOE security clearance.\nIndustry-recognized certifications such as MCP, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, Network+, VMware VCP, or related credentials.\nExperience administering and managing shared enterprise resources.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
