In this role, the Senior Systems Engineer will help support early lifecycle reviews and design development by interfacing with the Software Development Team, Hardware Development Team, Analysis Team, Logistics Team, and Test & Integration Team. This Senior Systems Engineer will help develop systems engineering artifacts, including Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents, verification planning and reports, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content. It is an expectation for this role that the Senior Systems Engineer will start the effort with direct tasking but move into a more autonomous role as the program goes on.\nThe Senior Systems Engineer will work in a matrixed organization, which supports multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments. When the current program ends, the Senior Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to support a different program in the portfolio. A candidate with experience in other engineering areas such as Test, Model-Based Systems Engineering, Risk Management, and Reliability Analysis will be treated preferentially. Share your resume with us today!\nBasic Qualifications:\nA Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of experience or an MS with 6+ years.\nExperience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.\nExperience conducting system-level requirements analysis, functional analysis, and trade studies\nPosition requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.\nCapable of leading large, complex tasks that span across multiple technical areas\nDemonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment, including leading and conducting Technical Design Reviews, as well as presenting to customers and management\nDemonstrated experience accurately estimating the engineering effort (i.e. hours) associated with Systems Engineering tasks.\nResident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.\nPossess a secret clearance or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPreference shown to candidates who possess a Master of Science in System Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, and/or have at least 6 years of direct systems engineering experience.\nPreferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:\nMagicDraw and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools.\nDOORS and/or other requirements database tools.\nUnderstanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methods.\nExperience supporting DoD, NASA, or DARPA programs.\nExperience working with sub-contractors/vendors\nFamiliarity with building an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and task planning flows\nObject Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification.\nINCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP).\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
