The IFPC Inc 2 is a ground-based, mobile system that aims to combat cruise missiles and unmanned aircraft systems. As part of the Indirect Fire Protection Capability program (IFPC), the system protects and defends civilian and military infrastructure and bridges the gap between tactical short range air defense systems and our strategic systems.\nThis Systems Engineer will lead and manage verification efforts for the program by owning V&V processes, planning detailed verification objectives, managing a verification burndown, and closing out verification of requirements from the system level down to the component level. This systems engineer must have experience with developing systems engineering artifacts, including Requirements Specifications, Test Procedures, Test Reports, CONOPS, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content.\nLeidos Defense delivers innovative systems, solutions, and services across land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace to support customers worldwide. Our teams address complex defense challenges through advanced engineering, technology, and mission-focused solutions.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDevelop and manage the verification process & strategy\nOwn system-level Design Verification Objectives (DVOs) and Verification Closure Notices (VCNs)\nReview and approve all DVOs and VCNs at the subsystem and below level including software\nPresent metrics and status to SE lead and leadership\nPlan verification priorities and manage a verification burndown against multiple configurations\nEnsure requirements are verifiable\nManage the linkages between verification artifacts and requirements such as test procedures and analysis results\nWork to define success criteria\nWork a path towards addressing verification gaps\nOwn the system level Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)\nMentor team in writing good verification artifacts\nManage verification artifacts against multiple system configurations\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 8+ years of experience or an MS with 6+ years.\nExperience in managing requirements verification for complex system.\nExperience collaborating across engineering disciplines in a broad team.\nResident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.\nPossess a secret clearance, or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPreference shown to candidates who possess a Master of Science in System Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, and/or have at least 6+ years of direct systems engineering experience.\nPreferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:\nDeriving and managing requirements for complex systems.\nMagicDraw and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling tools\nEngineering Leadership experience\nDemonstrated experience accurately estimating the engineering effort (i.e. hours) associated with Systems Engineering tasks.\nJAMA, DOORS, and/or other requirements database tools\nObject Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification\nINCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP)\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
