Begin your journey of a flourishing and meaningful career, share your resume with us today!\nPosition summary\nServes as the deck-plate technical lead and subject matter expert for assigned shipboard installations. Directs day-to-day technical execution, verifies cable and cableway workmanship, troubleshoots fiber-optic and electrical installation deficiencies, coordinates readiness and reports progress to installation leadership.\nEssential responsibilities\nDirect and verify assigned deck-plate cable, cableway, connector, fiber-optic, power-installation, and system installation activities; independently resolve technical issues within delegated authority and escalate unresolved discrepancies.\nSequence daily installation work, assign technical tasks, verify personnel qualifications, and identify material, tooling, access, and schedule constraints before execution.\nReview installation drawings and SIDs; coordinate SID validations, redlines, work-package readiness, and installation changes with engineering.\nTrack deck-plate labor, production progress, discrepancies, and completion status; submit timely updates to the Team Lead and OSIC as directed.\nCoordinate required WAF/TUMS/tag-out activities and electrical safety documentation with authorized personnel before work begins.\nVerify QA workbook entries, inspections, test records, discrepancy correction, and closeout documentation for assigned work.\nSupport RMMCO/9090-310 documentation, EC orders, power installation, test readiness, and system troubleshooting as assigned.\nProvide technical coaching and OJT; inspect fiber-optic terminations and test results, diagnose high-loss connections, damaged fiber, contamination, and improper terminations; coordinate assigned subcontractor work and enforce shipyard safety and environmental requirements.\nRequired skills and qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of direct field installation experience (per October 2026 Tech III requisition).\nDemonstrated advanced installation proficiency and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision; proficiency in fiber-optic cable preparation, termination, inspection, and testing using applicable test equipment; ability to identify and correct high-loss connections, damaged fiber, improper terminations, contamination, and other installation defects.\n Knowledge of single-mode and multimode fiber, connector types, polarity, bend-radius requirements, and handling practices.\nSkilled in cable cutting, preparation, installation, cableway systems, technical drawings, redlines, and installation planning.\nFamiliarity with safety lockout/tag-out programs.\nValid Driver’s license\nValid Passport\nOSHA 10\nMust possess an active Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.\nWorking conditions and compliance\nShipboard assignments may require ladder climbing, work in restricted spaces, material handling up to 50 lbs., and work at naval or commercial shipyards.\n Follow approved drawings, NAVSEA Standard Items, applicable shipyard and program safety rules, and required security-clearance conditions.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
