Join us and make a difference in National Security!\nJob Responsibilities:\nAnalyze system requirements to develop system architecture, design documentation, and technical specifications supporting large-scale enterprise environments. \nCreate system configuration documentation including capacity planning, performance modeling, risk assessments, and analysis of alternatives for complex system challenges. \nProvide database engineering leadership for large distributed systems, ensuring robust design, integration, and scalability across interconnected components. \nCollaborate across Agile teams including integration engineers, testers, IA engineers, and technical managers to support end-to-end system delivery. \nDesign and administer databases ensuring normalized schemas, compliance with security standards, and alignment with industry best practices. \n Implement and maintain database environments including installations, upgrades, patching, object creation (tables, indexes, views, stored procedures), and performance tuning. \nEnsure system reliability by monitoring performance, resolving bottlenecks, validating backups, and documenting disaster recovery strategies. \nSupport long -term planning by forecasting future database needs, advising development teams, preparing progress reports, and contributing to program increment planning. \nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field with at least 12+ years of related experience or a Master’s Degree with at least 10+ years of relevant experience. Will consider work experience in lieu of a degree. \nActive DoD Secret Clearance to be considered and be eligible to obtain up to a TS/SCI clearance in the future. \nMinimum of ten (12) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. \nMinimum of eight (10) years of professional experience as a database administrator. \nMinimum of six (8) years of experience in developing database architectures. \nHands-on experience designing, implementing, and administering highly available relational database environments, including the development of functions, stored procedures, and triggers, using Oracle, PostgreSQL, or comparable enterprise database technologies \nExperience with data modeling, performance tuning, database clustering, replication, load balancing, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery in production environments \nExperience supporting database workloads in Kubernetes and AWS, Azure, or hybrid-cloud environments \nExperience in supporting development efforts in all phases of the development life cycle. \nAbility to work in a dynamic team environment, manage time effectively, meet schedules, and participate in Agile Scrum activities \nDoD 8570 approved security certification (i.e., Security +) (Will be required 90 days after hire). \nDesired Qualifications:\nKnowledgeable in Agile Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean), particular to the incorporation of security / IA into the lifecycle. \nExperience integrating security into a Continuous Integration Environment. \nKnowledgeable on various web services / service-oriented architectures \nExperience with Oracle or PostgreSQL high-availability, replication, and recovery technologies \nExperience with cloud-based database services and containerized database platforms \nPrevious experience in Administration and Operations roles. \nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
