The DBA performs day-to-day technical database administration tasks. This includes database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection. They should have experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SharePoint Database Services administration, data backs-up, data recovery, and update and fix security patches. Duties also include reviewing data within the database, ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.\nPrimary Task:\nThis role performs senior level database administration tasks and reviews the technical work of others.\nConducts database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.\nReviews data within the database, ensuring user database integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back-up procedures, and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.\nMonitors and manages backend data synchronization applications and external data source retrieval, applications.\nExamine customer problems, develop and present solutions, and then implement appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return to normal operations.\nCollaborates on and implements technical solutions with senior management and clients.\nSupports the development and adherence to procedures and policies.\nProvides basic mentorship to junior team members.\nSupports customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment.\nUpdates technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center (ITOC) personnel. \nBasic Qualifications\nUpdates technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 personnel. \nHigher level knowledge of standards, concepts and tools to be able to complete technology assignments.\nDomain level technical knowledge to maintain databases, ensure recovery and provide patches on Microsoft SQL.\nExperience working independently on technical database administration activities in support of enterprise database clusters and standalone databases.\nExperience with SharePoint Database Services.\nExperience implementing a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.\nExperience developing methodologies and presenting solutions to problems to senior management and clients.\nExperience interfacing with senior management and customers on requirements and solutions.\nFamiliarity with Database-as-a-Service offerings and management.\nFamiliarity with managing/administering MySQL and Oracle Database architectures a plus.\nEducation\nCandidate must have a bachelor’s degree with 8-12 years of prior relevant experience, master’s degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience, associate’s degree with 12-16 years of prior relevant experience, or High School Diploma with 20+ years of prior relevant experience.\nCertifications\nCandidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) - IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).\nClearance:\nDue to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.\nTS/SCI with polygraph required for Position OR TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph. \nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
