Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide the way we do business.\nWe are looking for a Substation CAD Drafter II to work a hybrid schedule in our Houston office.\nYou will work under the supervision of our CAD Lead/Manager and will also work directly with substation design engineers, designers, and other drafters in a fast paced environment to complete drafting and detailing tasks using MicroStation and AutoCAD software for several utility clients. This position requires some advanced CAD knowledge and drafting skills to efficiently complete some complex assignments and produce top-quality deliverables.\nResponsibilities - In this role, the qualified individual will be expected to:\nComplete routine, medium complexity drafting tasks, following client and local standard procedures.\nCreate and modify drawings using engineering markups with a high level of attention to details on the following drawing types:Protection & Control, SCADA, and Communications drawings such as building/panel/cabinet layouts, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other related drawings.\nPhysical Electrical drawings such as plans, section and elevations, details, and other related drawings.\n\nWork efficiently and be highly organized.\nComplete tasks on time in a fast paced engineering/production environment.\nAdhere to all applicable CAD standards and procedures.\nConsistently return top quality work products to the engineering team.\nComplete non-routine drafting tasks with minimum supervision.\nComplete specialized and customized tasks which may require advanced knowledge.\nComplete tasks at medium speed, with a high level of accuracy which require:Drafting Software Expertise - Medium\nSpecialized Engineering Drafting Practices - Medium\n\nCore Qualifications - The following are required to qualify for this position:\nAssociate of Applied Science in Drafting and Design degree from an accredited institution. High school diploma or Drafting certificate with additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n1+ years of relevant drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.\nAdvanced knowledge of common drafting principles, techniques and procedures.\nProficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation.\nAbility to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.\nProficiency with Windows operating system environments.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.\nProficiency with document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, etc.\nStrong professional verbal and written communication skills within a team environment.\nHighly organized and efficient.\nAbility to understand and implement a wide range of client CAD standards.\nAbility to perform tasks in a fast paced engineering/production environment.\nAdditional Qualifications - The following are also considered to qualify for this position:\nExperience with 3-D modelling in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.\nExperience with AutoCAD Electrical and Bentley Substation\nKnowledge of VBA and/or Auto Lisp.\nPDSSUBSTATION\nPowerDelivery\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
