MSS also plays a key role in advancing technology modernisation within Government, delivering scalable and adaptable solutions for complex enterprise challenges.\nThe Opportunity\nAs a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and defining complex system capabilities within a collaborative, Agile delivery environment. Working closely with engineers, architects, cyber specialists and program stakeholders, you will help translate operational needs into robust system designs and requirements that support successful project outcomes.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead the development and management of system and subsystem requirements, producing high-quality functional specifications and maintaining traceability using tools such as DOORS and Jazz.\nApply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to analyse, model and define system behaviours, architectures and interfaces, leveraging tools such as Rhapsody to develop activity, behavioural and other system models.\nFacilitate workshops and engagement sessions with customers and stakeholders to capture use cases, validate requirements and align technical solutions with program objectives.\nContribute to Agile delivery activities including user story development, sprint planning, estimation and continuous improvement, while ensuring cyber security and ISM control requirements are incorporated into system designs.\nAbout You\nYou are an experienced Systems Engineer who enjoys working across the full systems engineering lifecycle and collaborating with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders. You bring a structured approach to requirements development and system modelling, combined with the ability to translate complex problems into practical, scalable solutions.\nEssential:\nExperience developing and documenting functional specifications at system and subsystem level.\nExperience working within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.\nCapability in system and subsystem modelling, including behavioural and activity diagrams.\nHands-on experience with systems modelling tools, ideally IBM Rhapsody.\nExperience using requirements management and traceability tools such as DOORS and Jazz.\nAbility to facilitate stakeholder workshops and lead requirements elicitation activities, including use case development.\nExperience working within Agile delivery programs, including adaptive planning, user story development and story point estimation.\nKnowledge of cyber security principles, security hardening practices and ISM controls, with the ability to derive and manage cyber-related requirements.\nExperience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence.\nAdvantageous:\nExperience working on complex Defence, Government or mission-critical engineering programs.\nFamiliarity with systems integration, verification and validation activities across large-scale technology environments.\nPrevious experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering software-intensive systems.\nThis role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold an NV-1 security clearance.\nDue to the nature of our work, applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role.
