This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) document and communicate the modernization of its legacy Contact Center CRM Services (CCCS) platform.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nThe Technical Writer shall develop and maintain the written deliverables, documentation, and communications required to support the CCCS modernization effort.\nResponsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:\nWrite, maintain and support all deliverables required under the Deliverables Schedule.\nDevelop training support materials, release communications, and change management content.\nPartner with the Product Manager, Chief Architect, and Agile delivery teams to capture accurate, up-to-date technical content each sprint/release cycle and complete all SDLC documentation.\nConsult relevant sources, including CMS stakeholders, existing program documentation, and project artifacts, to verify accuracy, guidelines, and regulatory requirements governing project deliverables.\nEnsure all written content and documentation comply with Section 508 accessibility standards and CMS/HHS accessibility policies.\nCopyedit and proofread technical documentation, communications, and deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to CMS editorial standards.\nDevelop and maintain knowledge base articles, FAQs, and CSR-facing scripting content in support of Intelligent Knowledge Surfacing and knowledge management capabilities.\nManage multiple concurrent writing assignments and deliverables in a fast-paced, iterative Agile delivery environment.\nCoordinate with graphic designers, trainers, and multimedia specialists to integrate content strategy into broader stakeholder communications.\nSupport development of executive-level briefings, white papers, and presentations communicating program status and technical strategy to CMS leadership.\nMaintain version control and a repository of documentation artifacts to support requirements traceability and audit readiness.\nWork independently and within Agile project teams, managing program-level and CMS review/approval processes for all deliverables.\nEnsure documents meet editorial and government specifications, adhering to standards for quality, format, and style.\nCommunicate documentation status, risks, and dependencies to CMS leadership, and Leidos management.\nActively participate and support in customer meetings and other events supporting the CRM modernization effort.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in writing, technical writing, journalism, communications, or a closely related discipline, and a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience\nAbility to capture technical solutions and translate them into clear technical documentation and end-user focused communications\nStrong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to research, organize, and present complex information concisely\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent writing assignments and deliverables in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment\n Available to support in-person at Leidos/CMS Windsor Mill, MD (Baltimore) office, as needed\nAbility to obtain Public Trust\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAbility to write and edit content to Section 508 compliance standards\nExperience with Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework and methods\nExperience working with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)\nExperience supporting CMS or other federal health/human services modernization programs\nExperience writing technical and end-user documentation for CRM or contact center platforms (e.g., Pega, Salesforce, Siebel)\nExperience in a similar working environment helpful but not required; new thinking from other industries or work environments considered a plus\nOther\nPortfolio of work may be requested (print or digital acceptable) as part of the initial application process.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
