This position will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at their Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center location.\nThe Technician will provide the AJW-142 En Route Surveillance Team, Long Range Radar (AJW-142) radar technician services.\nThis position is remote within Texas or Louisiana.\nMust live in either of these states.\nUp to 50% travel.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\nCoordinate with Airway Transportation Systems Specialists (ATSS) to assist maintenance, modification, and repair needs for Air Route Surveillance Radar Model 4 (ARSR-4) or Common Air Route Surveillance Radar (CARSR) systems, provide technical guidance, assist with obtaining parts, and perform on-site support as needed.\nTroubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, and electromechanical problems, isolate faults, and support restoration of radar systems to operational service.\nProvide electrical and electromechanical fabrication, assembly, installation, and deployment support for radar systems and components.\nCollect, maintain, organize, and analyze technical data to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and system improvements.\nDocument maintenance actions, equipment modifications, and test results, and provide configuration management support for system hardware and software.\nCoordinate assigned field activities with site personnel, engineering staff, and other support teams.\nCommunicate schedules, milestones, risks, technical issues, and work progress. \nPerform on-site technical support and restoration activities while maintaining radar site security and following applicable safety requirements.\nResponsible for in-service improvements and modifications of assigned NAS systems (e.g., CARSR, ARSR-4 and other evolving system) as well as support for the DoD, DHS, and other federal agencies’ tactical homeland defense initiatives.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or modifying radar or comparable complex electronic systems.\nAbility to interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.\nAbility to use electronic test equipment to isolate faults, verify repairs, and restore equipment to service.\nAbility to independently resolve complex technical problems and recognize when additional engineering support is required.\nAbility to document maintenance actions, equipment modifications, test results, and changes to hardware and software configurations.\nAbility to coordinate field activities and communicate schedules, progress, technical issues, and risks.\nAbility and willingness to travel and perform work at operational radar sites while following site security and safety requirements.\nMust obtain a Secret security clearance before starting employment and maintain it throughout employment.\nIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
