NATSC provides repair, refurbishment, upgrades, and testing of Navy towed sonar arrays that support submarine and surface ship operations. Leidos delivers production engineering, logistics, and technical services to help keep these critical systems mission-ready for the U.S. Navy and Foreign Military Sales customers.\nLeidos' Defense Group is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to support logistics operations at the Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) in Newport, Rhode Island. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is dependable, and is eager to learn. No advanced education is required-we provide training for individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to develop new skills.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nLoad and unload vehicles and transport materials safely throughout the facility.\n\nReceive, inspect, issue, and store materials in accordance with established procedures.\n\nMaintain accurate inventory records using both electronic and paper-based systems.\n\nPerform daily inventory audits and cycle counts.\n\nOperate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and powered material handling equipment.\n\nPackage and prepare materials for shipment.\n\nMaintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.\n\nFollow all safety, quality, and security procedures.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED.\n\nU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. An Interim Secret clearance is required to begin employment.\n\nDemonstrated willingness to learn, accept training, and follow established procedures.\n\nStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.\n\nPrevious warehouse experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are dependable and eager to learn.\n\nBasic computer skills and familiarity with standard office equipment.\n\nAbility to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.\n\nValid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.\n\nExperience supporting warehouse operations or inventory management.\n\nExperience reading or interpreting warehouse storage plans.\n\nPrevious experience supporting NATSC Newport as a Warehouse Specialist or in a similar role.\n\nAdditional Information\nThis position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit.
